And I would definitely try cotton candy grapes anyway, wonder what kind of wine they would make.....

Just reading that "cotton candy wine" and I start to get a combo head ache and jaw hurt.
8 might try mothballs to try to deter rats then as we are having quite a problem with them. S8nce my chickens have a rather small free range space, I'll need to maybe put them in small mesh bags and hang them on the fence line where they seem to run, so the chickens won't come in contact with them.I got the mothballs put out today, after I made sure the snake was nowhere around. I don't really want to kill the snake, because black racers kill poisonous snakes, but I don't want it eating my eggs, and messing with my chickens either, so I will see how this goes. The mothballs are very cheap, so it's not that big of a deal to get them and replenish on a regular basis. I'm told it will keep the rodents at bay too. They sell snake deterrent granules, proven effective, at Home Depot in gallon sized containers for about $15.00 a container. The active ingredient is naphthalene, which is the same active ingredient in mothballs, so in essence it's ground up mothballs at a big price. The property owner is um, er, significantly less than a nice person, to put it mildly.
On another note, I've got 4 loaves of Amish Friendship Bread baking in the oven. My house smells delicious.
