We have been catching them every so often and looking and looking and looking.....


Can't find any, so I think the second dose got them all. We will keep an eye out though.

Chicka, thank you sooooo much for the eggs this spring. Today was the last butchering day of the year. I did the 3 sweetgrass turkeys. Although they were beautiful and fun, they were also bad (obsessed with BF's truck). The bourbon red girl got a pardon at the last minute (she's not bad - never leaves the pen - and old Blue Turkey Girl seems to have disappeared in the last 24 hours so we needed another girl to stay on). Only one turkey out of the 4 I hatched was a boy, and he dressed out to 13 lbs!!! Even BF had a hard time controlling him. The two girls were 8 and 7 lbs dressed. The chanticleer rooster also got a pardon and he and the jubilee orpington will father next year's chicken babies. The chanticleer hen and the (gorgeous and friendly) buckeye are also staying on board.

How wonderful that you got some meat for the freezer and some new breeding stock for next year to get some new blood into the bunch.

Hopefully next year you will have some nice sized stock to chose from.

We got the RV home yesterday it was an all day affair again. But at least now it is home. There is so much to remember to operate the thing it's crazy how you think you can remember after they spend most of the day showing you, then you get home and cannot get the first thing to work!

We spent the morning reading the owners manuel just to turn on the AC!


Driving home 3 hrs. trip

Parked in the drive way for now. We have to move a fence to park it when we want it to go.

We are both doing great, Lyme-wise. We had a friend come over today and BF showed him a picture he took of his face during the first week. The friend laughed hard and thought it was Photoshopped. I'm really glad he made an almost full recovery. He looked awful! I had forgotten how bad it was until I saw the picture.

I got some stock started (in the roasting stage) from the necks. We should have enough for some soup and also to make some awesome gravy. The veggies are almost all mine - we didn't have enough carrots so we had to use one from the store - and my garlic had a bit of a head start on next year by the time I got to it this year so I had to borrow some garlic from a friend... but it's nice to throw something in the oven and have it be almost all local. My celery is great looking, I'm so glad I started to grow that.

Does anyone know of an all around great wormer that can be added to water?
