The Old Folks Home

Cant think of anything else that explains practically every backyard Chicken on BYC not having eggs!
The Days get longer after today so they will get going again.

I collected 11 eggs yesterday. Five of them are from my 5 Trader Joe's Pullets--They will be Hens on January first though.

They are great layers for sure!

Sigh.... Never married. Single mom. The Dad Ran, didn't need him any way. Most comments I hear about it I am glad I didn't. But then I was never asked. Ever.

I always wonder what my life would be like If I had made an actual connection.

deb

This made me sad to read.

5 in the evening is a dream that won't be here for another few months... But then again, 19 hours of light in the summer is pretty sweet.

Al, sorry about the chicken, hopefully it's just an isolated incident.

Deb, there's still time =)

My favorite example is my goddaughters great grandfather. At about 80 years of age, he's been with his girlfriend for about 3-4 years now.

My mother and father got divorced when I was little. She remarried and he passed away. She didn't like being alone. She met a man online and moved cross country at 74 years old! They were together for a couple years before he passed away, then she got sick, came home, and passed away almost 2 years ago now. But she was happy.

We love you Deb, and I, for one cant imagine why some man didn't see in you what we see. With all you know, and all you've done, and your love of animals and dancing and mechanical design, you are strong capable, and independent and.............Oh, wait................... I think I might know....... but I can't say in mixed company, it might offend the guys here.

I'll just say that I can relate. There's only a few out there that are drawn to a six foot tall woman that carries a gun for a living, and I wasn't too interested in the ones that were!

Update on the chicken

A real puzzler.

No parasites in the intestines.

Liver looks good.

Nothing stuck in wind pipe or trachea

No broken bones.

Son that was continuing dissection said that there was some "tapioca" pudding on the lungs that quickly disappeared before we could take a photo.

Lungs looked good to me.

A normal amount of internal fat.

700
Reproduction area looked normal.

 no idea.

I guess I will go to the "must have been bullied off the feed" theory.

As a result, I will increase light for those chickens and put up a wind block for the feed and water. Still though, :idunno

Edited to change to a better lung photo... Still all apple juicy.
