The Old Folks Home

Wrong.

We were on vacation at Disney when I heard a tapping on our patio door. There were three mallards waiting expectantly. By the end of our stay, they were coming into the room for treats. Wonder how the next guests dealt with them?

The same way you did! Why do you think the ducks stop by the door and knock? I hate to tell you this but you weren't their first.

What cracks me up is in the last video first thing when the ducks get in the water... the male has his way with one of the females.....

.

I betcha there is NO duck smell in the Peabody. notice once they walked from the elevator to the fountain they rolled up that carpet and removed it?

I betcha that fountain has a filter on it the size of a Volkswagon....

And it looks like they have a private elevator.

You know EVERYTHING Deb! I was thinking maybe the original picture was a PhotoShop gag following the humor thread!

You mean I wasn't special? It did take them 3 or 4 days to enter to the middle of the room. Grand daughters loved it - the Princess not so much.

I'd be with the Princess on that unless the ducks wiped their feet and promised not to poop until they were back outside. I'm probably weird

but I don't invite my chickens into the house either.

Someday I will recount the story of the show chickens in the cellar for the winter.

We are, indeed, the 'odd couple'. Well, at least I am odd - the redneck man and the blueblood woman.

I have a broody sitting on eggs that are due Christmas day.
Should I separate them if they hatch, with Momma of course.
Or leave them? If I leave them should I change to flock feeder or Chick feed for all? I've never done in the coop chicks before and I didnt think she would stick it out when I let her keep the eggs. It's kind of exciting now.

It would suck if the baby chicks were to be killed by the bigger birds. I would at least partition them off from the rest of the flock.
I would also feed mother and chicks chick starter. I always use medicated on my chicks but some people are against it

build a creep feeder for the chicks something they can easily go in and out of and excludes the big birds. But that momma hen will fiercely protect those chicks from the others.
