Ron I agree with you on the broodiness being bred out of the chickens! I have had 4 hens go broody on me this year and only two of my Buff Orp's managed to hatch and one abandoned her chicks at 3 weeks old. But they managed with me helping them.

Hay right now is running 16 dollars a bale... I need to get my act to gether and make a full on hay storage area. I have room enough for about 44 bales. (about four and a half months worth)

I can't even imagine. We're at $3.75 (delivered, second cut).

I've got one more night of work - and it was kinda crazy last night so I can't wait to see what tonight holds - then off for exactly 72 hours!!!

Just taking a minute to pop in and wish all my BYC family a very blessed and merry Christmas (or whatever you celebrate) and thought I would share a bit of our morning,
