Good write up Tara.... Koi are cold water fish but they dont necessarily need to hibernate. You have some beauts.

Koi live a good hundred years. Handed down generation to generation historicall. Good sized Koi with Good attributes can go for A LOT of money

Thanks Deb! I can take no credit for the fish, that is Rick's depart.

Since I am mostly a mutt myself, the fish attributes are lost upon moi! There is a colour scheme in Koi that I have never really gotten. Must be equivalent to our "bird feather" patterns found in the SOPs, eh!

Must have this here but not there.

If you like wildlife, adding a pond to your yard attracts more than your own domestics. Supplies hydration and protection to other forms of free-loaders--like we need to encourage more of those to hang around.

These Dr.'s kind of thought it was something to do with my hernia repair.

Mostly medications cause low potassium. The most common medication type is diuretics (water pills) - hydrochlorothiazide, chlorthalidone, furosemide. Diarrhea can also cause it.

On a more positive note DH said out doe had kits. He found one that she had pushed out of the nest that did not make it. This kit he said was about 4-5" and some hair already.
He said she won't let him see the others but he said they are smaller. I can't wait to see them.

DH took a 64 qt. tote and turned it upside down and cut a hole in it to hover a heat lamp over it to move the chicks to the coop. I told him to make sure it was 70* in the tote for the chicks. But their half of the coop is completely enclosed with heavy guage wire so they will be safe. They cannot go outside till they are old enough so they can't fit thruough the 2x4 welded wire on the run.
They will love having more freedom.

Not to be getting too far off the beaten path, but trust me, I'd believe it.

I was quarantined once by the Maine CDC for cryptosporidiosis.

Sounds like we found the likely cause of your low potassium.
