Wowsers, I am NOT a night person.... I wonder how I would handle a job like that.

I'm not a night person, either. I'd sleep from 6 pm to 1 am daily, if I was allowed and if I didn't have that drat insomnia.

Haven't seen that kind of churches myself, but apparently there is a boat church that travels the coast.

You need to go, STAT, and check it out. The boat church, and the skin spot. Both. Report back. 


Dentist wasn't awful but I got a scolding. Apparently in between my father's suicide and the family Lyme disease and all the other loveliness that was the latter half of my year last year I forgot to make an appointment with the periodontist.  I also should have flossed more... apparently when it's all you can do to get up, put pants on and try to function throughout the day one should also add flossing to that. 



Yeah, he can bite me. I think that's a good insult to throw at a dentist.

I agree with all you said. Especially the getting out of bed part and biting the dentist.

As to my spot....

Luckily, being from a long line of doctors (yep, yep, first one to NOT get a medical degree whatever), I made my apointment only a month after I noticed it. It looked super innocuous, except for its history. Five years back I had had a spot in the same spot (haha), that Looked like it was an "I am thinking about becoming precancerous" spot.

When I went in with that one, 5 years back..... The Doctor said it was clearly not yet precancerous, but did look like it was thinking about it, and so he said "lets watch it". I said that was stupid, I wanted it gone. We compromised and he burnt it off.

So now... Tiny innocuous spot growing where previous "wanting to be scary" spot used to be, fell into my "cut the sucker out now!" Category.

Anyway, this time (different doc) the Doc agreed with me completely, it did look innocuous, but it was most excellent to get it cut out now, and sent to pathology just in case.

Tiny spot was still big enough to need a stitch to close the hole. I kept my mouth shut, he is a good and experienced Doctor, but his stitch work is simply servicable, I like the elegance of quality stitch work.. Doesn't really matter though.. Scars are cool.



As to the church, I had to look it up, since V hadn't ever seen one, I thought that they were all over Norway, Sweden and Finland.

It turns out that I am not so great at remembering memories from 35 years back.

The wooden churches turn out to only (I think, I did minimal searching) be in Norway, and they are built with the same TECHNIQUES that used to be used in the Viking war ships, but they do not look exactly like upsidedown ships (I am telling you, in the memory in my brain, they looked EXACTLY like upsidedown viking war ships all stacked on top of each other and reaching into the sky...now if I could only print out the photo on my head -sigh-)

Anyway, the internet says one of them (there are several) looks like this:

I did manage to duck out of most of the photos. I looked through ALL of the photos on that page, and managed to see myself, I think only 4 times.

However, yes, the big group shot on the top of the photo page... I am in there, but not clearly thank goodness. Most of my boys are nice and clear and up front in that photo though. The only three wearing plaid are all my boys. The only boy wearing a wide bright cowboy type stripe shirt and holding a black hat is also mine. Boy #4 is in a light blue shirt and khaki pants, to the right of the two in blue and white plaid.

There you go, the 5 boys, and spouse and I are not next to any of them.

So go play "where is Waldo" as long as you like, but if you truly know which one is me, please don't tell.

OK, I'm writing off all children, women and priests as not being you. That cuts it down a bit. How many guesses do we get? Shouldn't take but 7 or so

And why is boy #3 smooshing the face of boy #5?

#3 is being an excellent big brother, and is making sure that the youngest looks at the camera... He kept turning around to look at everyone.
