I was a waitress for many years so if I get a good server in any restaurant they get a good tip. If they are struggling and or new they still get a good tip. The only time I won't leave a tip is if I cannot get any service.



On another note: I have several friends that have bought poultry from this same person and they have all had birds they got from this person get Myricks. One of my friends has a hen that lives in a shoe box because the poor thing cannot walk. I wish this person would do something to get rid of the disease in their stock so they would quick selling diseased poultry all over the state!

'This person' probably thinks he IS getting rid of his problem - he's selling the sick birds to everyone else. Pretty soon he won't have any birds. Then he can sell some other sickly animals. Can't he be reported to some department- state's attorney or something?

IF they answered yes they got the second question
If they answered No He would say thank you and Next

Second question:
What does it taste like to machine on Cast Iron
If they answered anything but Blood he would say thank you.

He would hire them on the spot and put them to work immediately. Full pay two weeks if they didnt work out no harm done.

NO one didnt work out.

someone complained about another that he was working too slow. So dad took some time to observe. Some of this work was zero tolerance machining.... Meaning you had to work the material at a specific ambient temperature to achieve 4 decimal places. This fellow was Maticulous getting his materials jus so in such order and precice cleanness when the temperature was right He flew... He gave the guy a bonus.

Yep... And the attitudes you grow up with are so important.

Absolutely. I make a point to ask the new staff after they've been there a while "what's our housekeeper's name?" They're always floored. My response: "it's important. you can't do your job without them doing theirs." I don't know if i change any attitudes that way, but it makes me feel better. 

Last week the electricians got some cookies. This week the guy fixing the hole in our wall is getting coffee. My boss is always surprised that I can put a work order in and it gets done. Not a surprise to me. Tell them how much you appreciate it, what a great job they've done and thank them. Cookies and coffee are extra but it sure does go a long way into making friends and later favors. Occasionally you have to take the bull by the horns to get something done, but more often than not people remember how you treated them and they'll go the extra mile for me and with me. I enjoy doing little things like that for good people, and the rewards far outweigh any monetary or time cost. 

Same thing with wait staff - they do a phenomenal job, they get an above average tip. Makes the next visit good, too. 

I totally agree.

My dad also trained me to never overlook the secretaries. He always said that they were the gate keepers, and without them the world would come crashing to an end.

It was funny, I once had a strange rash, he had a Doctor friend that was a Dermatologist. So, since I was a full time college student, the secretary/nurse set up an after hours appointment for me to come in and get checked out. My dad gave them both a bottle of scotch, or maybe the secretary/nurse got Port. However, the point was that the secretary/nurse got the more expensive bottle.

All through college I made a point to complement the secretaries and give them flowers..... All of the other students ignored them. Me, I got taken care of and remembered.

Diva I don't know. I know that this person has been told they sold sick birds to a couple of my friends. I am not sure what the excuse was but my friends went back and bought more birds from them.

I wanted to add by the time dad had run that shop about a month they hit their "ontime" mark. by the end of the project they were into bonuses for being ahead of time.

I guess they should vaccinate.

The vaccination that they have now, will keep the birds that are vaccinated from getting horrid sick, but will not stop the vaccinated birds from being carriers. They will be "Typhoid Marys" and infect all birds that they come in contact with.

Really bad.

The person now has infected property, and should never again sell ever again (but I think maybe eggs would be OK), they should have a completely closed flock, or just get out of the poultry business.

Very sad, but true.

A milk goat that is a crazy, like ten hour drive away.
