The Old Folks Home

Only side effects I've experienced from prescribed drugs was when I got pseudoephedrine for something. I thought I was having a panic attack, a heart attack, and had just finished a marathon, all at the same time. Super uncomfortable arrhythmia. Not something I'd like to repeat.

The cardboard box sounds like a good plan. I've used a small plastic dog carrier for transporting three landrace cluckers, you could probably fit four leghorns in one too. They don't really need to be able to move all that much, it's only a couple of hours.

Ok... I will remember to take pictures!

Can't wait to see them! Good luck with your goat fetching trip. Take whichever boy is behaving the worst and put him in the back to keep the goat company

AND buttermilk Oooh I have buttermilk in the refrigerator.... Aaaahhh first sip

Is it real buttermilk or cultured buttermilk? I didn't know until recently that the common stuff in the store isn't 'real' but made from pasteurized milk with "additives" to make is similar to the stuff left over after churning butter which is the 'real' thing.

SCG I had to catch up with several pages - but back there you posted a picture of Caramel with her smile. Couldn't get over her perfect white teeth. I'm so envious

store bought. low fat so I assume its been cultured... Has the same stuff in it though it was cultured. All i got
So glad to hear you are at least beginning to be on the mend. I am a bit of a buttermilk snob. The grocery store stuff is passable but can't really hold a candle to the real stuff. Same with Kefir. If you like those you will also like Kimche tho some of the store bought stuff can be overly sweet. Oh great. Now I have to drive 40 miles tomorrow to the only natural foods grocer in our northwoods for fresh kefir!

I have never tasted natural buttermilk. Though the chunkier the better. Mom gags and sputters if she gets some thats decided to grow more in the carton. I like it.

Sprouts may have it they have Un pasturized milk and I believe they have buttermilk. its like nine dollars for a gallon of regular milk. I will see worth a one shot deal.

Organic valley buttermilk was highly rated. You should be able to find it a a lot of stores.

If you can find it, get goat milk kefir. It is great!

I'm sorry folks, but all that stuff makes me gag

It all tastes like sour milk to me... yogurt, kefir, buttermilk, Blech! I mean I like it in baked goods and cooked in foods, but I can't eat/drink it "plain" as is. I like many cheeses (which I know is like the next progression/step), excluding those that have gone bad (moldy). I have no idea why I gag at the taste...
