That was my son's comment, how they need to take only very simple things, or everthing would get messed up.

It wasn't the paper that was so expensive, but the ink. They are full greeting card size, with Batman on the front. While I was at the store, I got some of the party supplies, but the Batman stuff is popular this year, so it was a bit sparse. I'll have to go to another couple of stores to get the rest of what I want.
My daughter is leaning. She was just going to whip this party together overnight. She was a bit overwhelmed when she realized how much goes into it. She asked how I was able, all those years, to do such great birthday parties for her, and her sisters. I reminded her that we started planning them at least 4 months ahead of time. The theme, what type of food, decorations, activities, guest list, were all figured out months in advance, so I could get things over a period of time. To her, it appeared like I just pulled it all together at the last minute, but in reality, I spent lots of time on it, so it all came together on time. Now she knows.
I also rented the shelter at the park she chose. That gives us a grill, electricity for music, and a couple fans if needed, since it's been hitting the 80's here lately. Whew!
Sounds like y'all had a nice time.Dh was on vacation for the past 2 weeks, and started back to work last night. Last Saturday, I took him to one of the local organic farms that sells lots of organic stuff. That lit a fire under him. The farm is putting in solar to run their fans, pumps for the fish, and hydropontics, electric fence, etc., but the installers weren't getting much done, because people kept asking them questions. After a bit, one of the men got with the owner, they set up chairs, and did about an hour and a half class on it, all hands on. Dh has been researching solar for awhile now, but the hands on approach really helped him.
We also spent a day at the local RV dealership looking at RV's. Not that we intend to get one, at least not for now, but it made for a fun day.
I got all the invitations printed last night, for my grandson's birthday party. If my legs were longer I would have kicked myself last night when I printed them. I did the outside fine, then flipped them over, but forgot to turn the paper around too, so they didn't print the information in the correct place when folded. I ran, and got more paper stock, and redid them. It wasn't the paper that was so expensive, but the ink. They are full greeting card size, with Batman on the front. No bad weather here (west central Alabama) yet. It is supposed to come in tonight. Thanks for the concern, Ron, you're a peach.
