The Old Folks Home

I was hoping for a answer right that second Lol!
Was panicking, didn't know whether to leave the hatched chicks in, take them out while waiting for the others to hatch, not supposed to open bator....Alaskan walked me through it. I ended up taking them out as they got up and walking, dried out faster out of it and under brooder lamp.
Maybe I'll panic less next time...
Didn't help they started hatching a few days early. I went to put the water in to up humidity had pips! Had been running 25-28% the whole time! Almost all hatched and some were old eggs.

I have been putting a bowl of chick starter in mine and not opening the bator till the end of day 23. They can drink through the hardware cloth into the water channels. Opening the bator is bad bad bad.

Yes it is. And I am 55 today. My Dh told me last night that I was officially a senior citizen today. lol So I guess I am. lol

Happy Birthday, chicka!!

Happy Birthday Chicka. you are just a senior in training - it gets better as you go along.:)

My brother has been getting senior discounts well ahead of his age - I think being bald brings that on. He was happy to have them. On the other hand our mom was fiercely ungrateful when she was offered a senior discount in a store. She was truly a senior. As for me, I am thrilled with any perks that come my way.

To me being a senior is a badge of honor - for continuing to breathe. I will be 69 next month. Used to truly fear 70 but, if you take it one year at a time - it's not a big deal.

Hey, do any of you guys have any life advice for someone younger? Or anything you would tell your younger self? I need all the help I can get ._.

My godmother and her sister (my sister's godmother) came up to visit me.

We had a lovely trip. Went to the Maine Wildlife Refuge yesterday then today went out to sightsee lighthouses.

Spring Point Ledge was gorgeous with the tide out:

Portland Head was wonderful, the sea roses were blooming and smelled amazing:

And then we went to Pemaquid where one of them fell and required EMS services. The good news is the ER was very slow and we got out of there with xrays, etc within 90 minutes. They're on their way home now. They had enough of Maine.
