The Old Folks Home

Moved out of Chicago nearly 47 years ago - it was getting bad then and much worse with the passing of time. I don't even like going into Chicago for the museums, too scary around them.

That is mild guinea fervor. I'll go out tonight and see if I can get some audio/visual when they get really worked up. You should hear them (well actually you probably can hear them) when the neighbors cat comes to visit.

There was this guy that collected and stored old dynomite in a deralict vehicle out behind his house. (Lots of people up here use old cars to store stuff).

One day it exploded.....

The boom was so loud that all of the windows, in all of the houses, in a maybe one mile radius, broke.

Luckily... He lived in about half way to no where... So it was only maybe 6 houses......

We were greeted by a nice big Rattlesnake when we parked the car in the garage just now. My 26 year old son is freaking because he has to put the trash out tonight. I told him to wear his boots and levis hed be fine.

It was a nice big adult about six feet long... tasting the vibrations of the garage door as it shut.... another reason to keep your garage doors shut this time of year.

dont put hands in places you cant see
dont allow piles of wood or stuff to create refuge

they arent a threat to chickens.

Close your garage door on the way out of town. Move somewhere else.

The guineas were surprisingly docile and quiet tonight. Last night must have used up their weekly allotment of crazy.

In other news my neighbor purchased a trumpet and was playing it on the porch tonight. I'm not sure if this is in retaliation to the goats, roosters, toms or guineas.

Little does she know I bought a bigger amplifier for my bass guitar.

She dyes 'em black.......

Son is going out right now to catch it..... he just cam in. He used a pair of grippers and picked him up and put him in a spare trash can... When I saw the snake it was very very shiny looking.... the sign that hes just molted... they are somewhat lethargic and its only about 78 degrees out right now He didnt even rattle till Dean put the lid on the can.

Now Dean is off to go deliver the snake down into the canyon where there is lots of food and water ....

Living in San diego and Deserts all my life snakes are just part of the environment... they have a beneficial role.

Any of u west coast folks have a good fish taco recipe?
What type of fish? Corn or flour shell? Toppings? Thanks in advance.
I have never had one and am sick and tired of reading about how delicious they are.
