It's amazing how white chickens can get right in the dirt totally covered bathing and come out of it still clean white. Right now though mine are a muddy mess, been thunderstorming off and on for days.

I wish we could still use a antenna. Antennas still work, as long as you have a newer TV, older TV'S require a digital converter box, they were selling them everywhere when the station's converted to digital. Problem here is the mountains. We're 43 miles from the nearest TV station, it will come in even though we're in a valley but it's fuzzy. Even when we were towards the top of a mountain was still not that great and only channel, CBS. Grew up with one channel as kids, winter sometimes two or three, no cable if you lived out of town, no satellite dish unless you spent thousand$.
Where I used to live before meeting DW, brother lives there now, other side of our town, very top of a mountain following a valley with a highway, VHF, and UHF comes in crystal clear, all local networks, CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, PBS, a couple of them double. Brother doesn't watch much TV so more than adequate for him, was same for me when I lived there, sure save $$.

When I first got married we lived out in the country at my great-grandmothers old place. You could only get one or two channels & they were both really staticy. DH & I had all of the old Star Treks on VHS & every night we would watch those. It got to the point where we'd seen them so many times that we started watching them with the volume off. We new what was gonna happen next & what their facial expressions would be so we'd make up new lines for them. It was hysterical! I still watch them but now its on Netflix & the volumes on.

We did have a channel with cartoons must have been local had JP Patches
each morning got to watch it after chores on Saturdays

Hey @ronott1 I am trying to find faster more reliable internet for our home. I am going to try FIOS by Verizon. Do you think it would be better than the Sateliite internet we have now that only works when the weather is perfect and most of the other users are at work or school.
Verizon Fios plan is 30 GB and Excede only gives us 17 GB of internet. I cannot get cable out here.

Fios only works if they have run the fiber optic cable to your street. Then they have to run it from the street to your house.

I remember when they ran the line by our old house. They kept calling and sending people to the house to get us to sign up until I threatened to call the police on them for harassment!

fios is fiber optics! You will be amazed at how fast it is. They usually give you 250 to 300 or or more GB per month.

I have cable services from a West coast provider called Wave broadband. We get 400gb per month now.
