The Old Folks Home

I love all the old movies and shows especially the westerns, watched the majority of all mentioned, in re-runs of course. Never forget how gramma or grampa would scream if us kids were making any noise, "Shut up! Hee Haw's on!", around early '80s so they probably watched every episode already anyway. Every time I see that infomercial selling the entire collection of Hee Haw episodes I think of them and want to buy it.
They watched another fav of mine also The Waltons, still love that show.

Gene Autry used to sing also. I think I was the only one who used to watch "John Sheldon w/Rex the wonder horse." Loved that horse.

Anybody remember "Lash Larue," he used a whip not as fast as a bullet though.

I thought stuffing Trigger was gruesome., I wouldn't be surprised if he and his wife ended up stuffed too. I read some time ago the museum was doing so badly the kids or gr.kids closed it and sold off Trigger, Bullet etc. saddles etc. I think no one wanted Buttermilk - Dale's horse.

yep, the only thing creepier to me when they stuffed Trigger was stuffing Bullet!

Why do I think this is not the best marketing strategy????

What are you talking about? bathroom humor always sells! Maybe women wouldn't be sold on that marketing, but most guys would... I like it!

Just wonder why the mix of capitol and lower case letters. Nice picture painting though!

So I normally sleep with the bedroom window open and a fan blowing in fresh air. Yesterday evening it was rather cool and windy so I left the fan out but kept the window open. This morning I was plenty warm under the covers but when I got out of bed it was @superchemicalgirl temp in there! So I did my thing and came out, opened the front door and the back slider for fresh air, and realized... it was cold! It was reading 42 on my outside thermometer and the computer was telling me it was 37. There's FROST on the neighbor's roof! When did summer go away? I'm sitting here wearing jeans, a flannel shirt over a T, and fuzzy slippers. My feet normally sweat, but they were cold too. This is gonna get the leaves turning pretty quick. Folks with gardens are gonna need to get harvesting here pretty quick too.

I have decided that the boys should watch "I Love Lucy" ....

Dang... Funny!!!!!! I had forgotten how funny.

Also, a perfect guide to how to have a blissful marriage.

I told my younger daughter a few years ago that comedy was different and BETTER way back when (I know, old fogey talk). We watched a few Hogan's Heros episodes on YouTube one evening starting with the first one. I watched a few more (because that was a GREAT show) over a few evenings and told her. She said she had watched them all. One upmanship! I said "The WHOLE first year?" She said "No, I watched ALL of them". I think she did it within a week of us watching the first show.

See, I was right, it WAS a good show. But I guess whoever put them up did so without permission and they disappeared

Yeah, I Love Lucy was (is?) a classic show. she was a hoot! Anyone remember the Gong show?

The former was SUBSTANTIALLY better than the second.

Get Smart
YEP!!! I like watching Bonanza on Inspiration network too. Reminds me of sitting with my dad and older brothers being forced to watch it. I hated it until my dad decided to turn our black and white TV into a color one by buying one of those "colorizer" plastic sheets that was supposed to make it look like it was in color. You know the ones you stuck to the screen. They were green on the bottom, kind of yellow/brown in the middle (I think) and blue on the top. It was a hoot!! My brothers and I never laughed so hard! Hoss, and the hoss, would start our green, changing colors as he rode up hill until they both wound up a pretty bright sky blue! All accompanied by my crazy brother Chuck's hilarious commentary

My poor dad did not appreciate our sense of humor.
We also get the channel that runs all the old TV shows.

No one has mentioned HeeHaw or Green Acres!!! Loved those stupid shows. I still enjoy Green Acres. Oh and I have all the old Ma and Pa Kettle movies on DVD.

I had a 25" Sony Color CRT TV that near the end of its life did that all by itself! Figure skating is popular in our house. Watch it on that TV and you could see the skater's dress in pretty much any color you would want depending on where she was on the screen.
