getaclue thoughts and prayers go out to you!
I will not discuss what some TWH people do to their horses to get "action" in the ring. The association is (or was) cracking down on the worst behaviors but even the "humane" ones I don't find very humane.

So I have another 3.5 years to go before getting a badge?
Heck, I can do that.

Gotta agree with you @getaclue. What we learned a lot after taking possession of our property. To date we have found approximately 10,000 dollars worth of animal remains from the previous owner's operation. Everything from goat to cattle skeletons were in every draw we have on the place. The dogs are always dragging in a new bone 10 years later. To say his animal husbandry is lacking is an understatement. His wife was very much into doing things 'natural' and the Amish are very well known for shunning vaccines and modern medicine as much as possible, but she was pretty adamant about it. His idea of worming the sheep was dumping vinegar and garlic in their drinking water all the while grazing them on pastures that were eaten down to stubble. The sheep didn't have a chance and neither did anything else he was grazing. There is nothing wrong with trying to reduce the amount of chemicals you run through your animals. But to allow your livestock to drop dead right before your eyes because of non treatment borderlines on abuse IMHO.

His solution to the problem was to sell his flock and buy a new flock of Katahdins and graze them on the same tired land he owned with no scheduled worming.
