Since we know that pumpkin pie is made from squash, not pumpkins, I vote for the latter. Or a really big Jack-0-Lantern!

What kind of pumpkin is it SCG?
We had the worst ever yr, went with Big Max. Usually we just grow field pumpkins for jack-o-lanterns and pie pumpkins and do great. These big max didn't get much bigger than softballs and are smooth yellow weird, plants got frost and died so that's it.
Not planting them again.

We use pie pumpkins for pumpkin pie :-D
And eat pie pumpkins like squash, mashed with butter, tastes the same.

When SCG was here we found a type of Hubbard squash at a farmers market. I bought two and took them home and baked them for making into pies and such. We made some delicious "pumpkin" bread with it. I think the next time I make it I will make all of the batter into muffins since those are easier to store for me.

I will be pulling the garden up soon so I will look on the tag but it is likely a Howden on a bed of chicken feces applied heavily the fall before and a weekly top dressing of duck poo water during the major part of the growing season.
