The Old Folks Home

Use my technique. Take unpacked totes, put them in barn loft with the intention of dealing with them later.........then never go back to the loft again.........

This technique also works well with an attic. Avoid the basement. Sometimes you just gotta go down there and if that happens you will be faced with the decision of going through them or moving them to the attic or hay loft.

darn I am so off base and unpacked even ones I didn't want to
only holiday stuff went to the loft in the garage

Silvadene is what lampworkers (glass artists who form beads and things with molten glass) use when hot globs of glass go flying. One of my mentors got hit so many times that she just got tattoo sleeves on her arms to hide all the scars. Some of us also wear welding aprons because you just cannot move fast enough if hot glass hits your lap or unprotected chest area. Being a glass artist sounds all glamorous, but in reality we're decked out like Kate McKinnon in Ghostbusters.

Boxes... oy. Move them someplace and forget until later, but realize you'll probably have the following reactions: (1) It's like Christmas! (2) Wow. It's a time capsule! Remember when... (3) I'm going senile. Is this my stuff?

The advantage to storing stuff neatly in boxes is you have one more defense against being called a hoarder.

The problem is that I want or need the stuff in the boxes. Tomorrow night l have to set up the entertainment center, my desk, and computer stuff.

I have almost all of the kitchen unpacked and set up. Our bedroom and bath are partly set up. I'll get there, it's just tedious, and seems neverending right now. I love the house and property though.

As long as the garage is off limits. I got in trouble for bringing a bunch of stuff out of the garage and putting them in the backroom. House stuff doesn't belong in the garage!!

(sheet rock, wonder board, tiles, lumber, shower surround we didn't use...etc..) DW wanted it all brought back out to the garage...
