The Old Folks Home

Love those pics @Cynthia12!!
That one with the bass was in a 'BassPro Magazine' wasn't it?
Our girls are the best fishermen.
Our oldest dd 17, going to be 18 soon, must have been ten yrs ago (had to carry her out cause she fell asleep Lol!), showed up me and her uncle. Late night bullhead fishing, I caught none...her uncle a couple small one's, she caught a dozen BIG one's. Not only was that memorable, but the first time I filleted bullheads. Cornmeal battered them the next night and deep fried along with potato french fries and homemade coleslaw.

Oh Ron, you mentioned fishing! Back in the day, I loved loved going fishing. I always caught the most! No kidding, I really would catch a lot. Maybe I already shared that story with you. Need to go find that photo. I am holding a Big Mouth Bass. Used to fish at Lake Powel a lot. Man, those were the days. I hunted also. Deer, Elk, Grouse, Pheasant. Never did hunt the quail, but the hubby did. We had the most wonderful English Setter to find them for us. And talk about holding a point! We had to put a bell on her to hear her when she would move, as the bird would move. The bird moves, she would slightly move, then point..move again..point again..she could hold a bird like no other!

I have seen this picture before, it is a great picture!

Maybe you can get back out to fish this spring.

No..not in any magazine. I wish. Maybe some money in that? lol

And now, you are making me hungry, thinking of that battered deep fried fish..oh yeah! Yum! Homemade coleslaw...it's been forever!

@Cynthia12 what a sweetheart fave the goldies are wonderful dogs
good sized girl there

I love them. This is my third one in our lives. Our first girl. Thinking this is my last large dog as I get older. :) I do have two small dogs too. I'm thinking one won't be with us much longer. He is getting older. Our Schnoodle. Love that little guy.

I wanted to thank @superchemicalgirl for the lovely gift she bestowed upon me a month or so ago. She sent me a beautiful quilt with some of the row by row patterns that I gifted her from Colorado. I wanted to hang it for display but wasn't going to do that while in the midst of packing a house to move. It is hanging now in my new home and friends visiting me today all commented on how beautiful it was

Thank you once again SCG! It really is very beautiful! It's been mostly cloudy since I hung it and I need better sun to get a picture of it. Once I do I'll post it here. Thanks also to @dsqard as I understand she had a hand in it as well.

You are most welcome. And yes, Dsqard made the fly fisherman row and one of the squares at the end of the geese row.

I started a new row by row last night, again with rows that y'all got me in 2015. I think this one is going to be a "Maine" coast quilt. There were so many phenomenal rows that year. I have my thoughts on a third quilt from all those rows, too.

curious, how does one "get someone" a quilt row? do places just sell strips of fabric? There is a place near me that sells quilting stuff but they just have squares of various sizes...

We have Big Mouth Bass the size in our pond. Too much fun when you have one on your line and it is tail walking on the water. I always liked people's reaction when I show them the picture of one of the big ones that I caught a few years back. They asked me if I turned it loose because it was so beautiful. I told them nope, it was delicious!

Your dogs are beautiful! I especially like the last one with the 'smiley' face.

Here is the closest thing to a hunting dog that we have.

This is Buck. He loves to stalk the chickens through the chain link fence. Otherwise, he is pretty worthless as a hunting dog, LOL. His sister is somewhat better although her claim to hunting fame is that she likes to catch rabbits and dig up field voles.
