The Old Folks Home

I have to get needle piercing, guns don't work for me. I wanna get my lobes re-pierced for the 3th time, then possible get a piercing on a pressure point in the ear that helps with headaches.

I am looking into fake nose piercing to see how I like the feel and if I can handle it in my vision

I know that tattoos and piercings are becoming more popular but I do urge you to think about your future when you do things like this. I realized, luckily early enough, that I wanted "a good job" and that I was being looked over for jobs because of the my appearance. I changed my appearance when it mattered and I'm glad I did.

It's a lesson that's hard to learn. You're still you inside, regardless of how you look on the outside.

And while I employ amazing people that work really hard I did have to explain to my boss why I hired someone with a neck tattoo, someone with earrings all the way up both ears, and someone with a face piercing.

Unfortunately, it still matters.

Obviously you will do whatever you want, and that's your choice, but I thought I'd throw this out there.

understandable and I have actually ask my special someone the exact some question when they were looking at doing a large tattoo (nothing offensive but none the less) and they said they are going to do farrier work and that has less stigma with tattoos and piercings. My mom who worked in a high end job had already told me about this which had help me decide on where to put the tattoo, somewhere I can easily hide it if need be. I plan on going into welding, but I don't plan on having a dozen piercings :gig there only a select few I want and even then I may use the "fake" stuff since it equals no stabbing

Got my ears pierced to celebrate graduating from nurses training. Got my second piercing when my mother died-kind of a grief thing. Got a left ear cartilage piercing for the heck of it, got my belly button pierced when I met DH and got my first tattoo on our first wedding anniversary. It is on my rt shoulder, two eagle feathers bound together with a leather thong and adorned with beads that when you count them are our wedding date. Eagle feathers represent the healing arts so it is fitting and proper. I'm 63 and a half years old and don't regret any of my body art. I got my tattoo where I could choose if and when anyone was to see it and my piercings have never turned any heads.

I once took care of a delightful old woman with Alzheimer's disease who had more than 6 piercings per each ear, each hole filled with a diamond earring. I figured if she could do it, so could I, LOL.

My younger sister got a piecing done on the ear pressure point for her headaches. She has allergies to a lot of medications.
She says the piecing's helped.

My second ear piercings seemed to bring on a sensitivity with wearing inexpensive earrings that I didn't have with my first holes. I rarely wear earrings anymore. Not worth the hassle. I wear a ton of rings and they don't seem to bother me.

Both DH and myself are the about the only ones around who don't have a single tattoo. Which is kind of cool...lol.

Both of my tattoos can be hidden the one on my wrist by my watch and the one on my rt. shoulder is never shown.
I had 4 piercings in my ears when I was young and now I can get an earring in one hole in each ear if I choose to wear earrings. I rarely do.
I don't like most of my kids and grandchildren' tattoo's. They are big and cannot be hidden in public most of the time. At least one son did get his on his calf so that other people don't see it if he goes to work.
I have never liked big tattoo's that hang out. And I have some family that has them.
My youngest daughter is married to a lady that has 4 children. And most people do not like or accept her life style.
She had a large tattoo put on her back that say's "Let the wicked judges be judged". I am one of the biggest homophobes she knows.
And it was very hard for me to accept her life choices. But after much prayer the good Lord told me that he understood I could not stop loving my child. That what ever she does is between him and her. I love that! And I can accept that..

Thanks. It was not an over night acceptance and that's for sure. But I also did ask her to be respectful to me as did her sisters ask her to be around their young children and she has been always. :)
I love the fact that Alabama is so family orientated and the cost of living is exactly why I moved here back in 1989. But my grandmother was born here and so were all her family.
I still had to work 2& 3 jobs to support my children but at least I could afford it here. :)
