The Old Folks Home

I Lived in CA all my life.... When we moved To San Diego in 67 it snowed... seen Hail many times as well as sleet.Of course not on the scale most have....but all right here in San Diego. Its been cold enough for sure at altitude but the drought has cut most of it off.... sigh.

for what its worth we are expecting snow on Christmas Eve up at about 4500 feet.

Mount Laguna is the highest peak before my house and they are expecting 1.69 inches of precipitation with translates to about two feet of snow...

My eldest made it home... he lost his lovehandles...but is normal weight...not skin and bones. Nice to see him a perfect weight.

And AWESOME to have him home again... there was a scramble though the first night... child 2 had been sleeping in child 1's bed...so there was a blanket scramble.

Child 1, a day and a half after being home, did his board of review and is now officially an Eagle Scout.

Super rocking! :ya

That Eagle Scout almost killed us. Child 1 is NOT organized, or motivated, or a go getter type....so truly...we almost died....but we got it done. :ya

When I was a kid in Galveston, the armpit of Texas, it snowed one year. Then a few years later....there was some ice on the top of some puddles one morning. I still remember the awe and wonder. The ice was in the shaded backyard of the neighbor... all of us kids sat around the ice and watched it melt. .... took maybe an hour.

Quote: LOL... our above ground swimming pool froze over in Las Vegas.... about three quarters of an inch.... I used to torture my dog throwing him in the pool during summer.... I tortured him again tossed him in the pool and watched him get buggeyed thinking he was going to go swimming agian. When he finally moved he had melted distinct paw prints in the ice.... I was eleven....

We get ice in the shade in mornings during winter and you can tell the houses that dont have insulation because their frosted roofs wont have frost on them. Up at the house the horse water gets that much ice... but then again we get snow up there.

So good to hear from you Deb..

As to scary, I asked him how bad the bus from Phoenix, Arizona to San Antonio, Texas was.... he said "Bad? Huh?" I asked how many dangerous type people....he again said "huh?"

:lau

My sister picked him up in San Antonio....and said there were a bunch of unsavory types... but my boy was by far the scariest. :D

I am so proud of my boy!

Is he home for good? (sorry if I'm not keeping up).

We had a Christmas miracle!!!! We actually got our car back today!!! Only been since November 8th, jeeesh!!! (3-4 weeks? not.)
When we were inspecting the repairs the guy in charge of getting our car done wouldn't look me in the eye, probably a good thing.
