The Old Folks Home

Chickadoodles will the vinegar harm the strawberries? I've killed out volunteer trees using hot water, salt and vinegar before....and anything growing near it too.....for a long, long time.

Alaskan, I like your mode of gardening. The least fuss the better.
It does not take much only a squirt or two that way you don't get it on anything else with a spray bottle. (I have not done this, but I know some on the gardening page I'm on do and they just give a squirt directly on the weed.) So I don't really know. But I can see why hot water would do that it cooked the roots.

Alaskan I also like your method. lol We tried several times to grow potatoes. Last year we did get a few but most were very small. I hope to try to grow them in walmart bags this year 2-3 per 7 gallon bags.

Yeah. I've got champagne taste and a beer pocketbook, myself. Which is why my four blooming peach trees out front are wearing old bed sheets right now. I'd like to hear the Amish women gossiping about the state of my dingy worn full sized sheets. Jokes on them. Our bed's a king.

It's my theory (and it's only a theory) that IF large burns still happened (which isn't feasible because there are towns and houses in the way) like when there was no houses for miles, there'd be less issues with diseases, worms, weeds...in essence...issues that over populating and overstocking have caused. I think a good burn is like hitting the refresh on a piece of land. That's just my thoughts...I could be wrong on that.

Just wow. Envious here.

I just read that Walmart is going more upscale?

Isn't that what Sears did? And all I see are articles how Sears is hanging by a thread and going out of business. Walmart not my favorites place but it's still the best compared to what else we have. It gets more expensive every time I go there.

Batteries are purchased at Dollar Tree here. And a surprising amount of chickenry supplies.

Still a big mud hole here but it's starting to dry up. Planting gardens here doesn't usually take place until May. I bought large planting pots at Dollar Tree. Not certain what I'm putting in them yet.

I've been sick, sort-of, for the last few days. I hasn't gotten me in its grips...yet. I'm kung fu fighting it off as hard as I can though. We semen test the last bulls today. So far, so good!

I dusted birds until 2am last night.

I hurt my arm last week and just when it was just about healed, I re-hurt it Monday morning trying to get the coop door open. The door got damaged in the wind Sunday. I dusted until I couldn't use my arm anymore. Darn arm.

Hopefully I can finish the girls after we get home from the vets.

Mud doesn't burn very well. Hope your arm gets better soon.

I am very high class. I've already done a load of laundry this week. Shan't talk on dishes, though.

I have aspirations to high class... but one look around the property and the junk piles just scream white trash.

Can't even manage to keep the area by the front door picked up....

Good thing though, because it keeps my property value low. :D
