Sitting here with a tumbler of Amaretto DiSarrono on ice and contemplating the meaning of life. I know there IS meaning there someplace...

Put in a good days physical labor today and have more to follow tomorrow. Soaked in the jacuzzi for 45 minutes of so, and need to go to bed and get some sleep. I don't feel rushed as I'll be awake at 3:30 anyway, then will take a while to get back to sleep, then up by 8. Maybe the amaretto will help

Pretty sure you found what you were looking for. ;-)
Thank you all for the wonderful compliments on my quilt. I am really curious to see how it does in the competition I am going to enter it in. Entries don't go in until May so I just have to wait and remember to enter.

Morning everyone.

@Latestarter, if you figure out the meaning of life will you please let me know? I've been trying to figure that one out for years.

@Alaskan, a lot of my relation are Pentecostals so I'm no stranger to ummm....expressive church services. Loved hearing about your church's Easter Service. Theology has always interested me so I really enjoyed your narration. The rest of my family rest were Southern Baptists. One aunt, one of her daughters and our family all joined the United Church of Christ. We were like the family tree's red headed step children LOL.

I haven't posted much the past few days but I've been lurking trying to keep up. I came down with a stomach virus Easter evening that lasted through Monday. Yuck is all I can say. I did manage to get 90% of our garden planted over the weekend. Now I'm waiting for it to rain before stuff rots in the ground without germinating.

My bantam OEGB cockerels have taken over the job of Mama rooster to the 4 week old chicks. They are so cute to watch when I give them their morning slice of bread and one of them patiently breaks it up for them.

@dsqard, I love Orioles and your quilt. The colors just jump out at you. Good job!

I guess that's it from my little corner of the world. Time to refill the coffee mug.

Microchick wish you could get a video of the cockerelss feeding & breaking up bread for the babies . They you could replay it on Father's Day. Hmm Father'sDay(Cockerels/Roosters) video contest - such a great idea - why didn't I think of it? OH I did!!

That's a cool idea!

Here's our helpful little "big brother." We had a broody hen that refused to adopt this little guy as a baby, so he wound up spending his first few weeks alone. We weren't sure how he'd do with younger chicks; I've seen some pretty brutal things happen when the sizes/ages are this different. :hide But Ollie has been wonderful. He has been very helpful at inspiring the little ones to eat; for some reason, our Serama chicks have been a bit slow on that score. Lately, we've witnessed a few dust-ups with what we think must be tiny cockerels, but as near as I can tell, it's the chicks starting it, not Ollie!

What a coincidence! My top OEGB cockerel's name is Oliver. I was supposed to be an Olivia but well, combs and wattles happen.

I'll try to get a movie of him and his 'brother' Pepper working with the chicks later this afternoon. A slice of bread should do the trick. I was surprised that the two Cockerels were doing so well with the littles as I call the 4 week chicks. They have been in a snit since I took their standard hens away from them and started my bantam pen. I only saw one peck and that happened when one of the Buff Orpington roosters covered one of the Welsummer hens (which the boys really like) directly on the other side of the fence. One of the 4 week olds had the bad judgement to walk up him and got the full brunt of Mama Roosters bad mood.
