The Old Folks Home

I have been learning how to make clothes for the grands. I did a couple short outfits and dresses. View attachment 551031 View attachment 551032 View attachment 551033
Those outfits are absolutely pretty :love The colors are just perfect!!!
Hate bears...

SO BLASTED STRONG!!!!

They peal back plywood like potato chips.
We are fortunate that we only have the black bears and not the grizz's. I don't think our blacks get as large as their Alaskan cousins either but not sure. We had one sow that was around for years and she was enormous and afraid of NOTHING but I think she may have finally wound up in somebody's freezer but not before she taught a lot of cubs all her tricks!
Like I said, so far our fence rig has worked, but honestly not exactly certain why so that's why I'm thinking of at least trying electrifying. They would find it difficult to get into our coop because we covered it top to bottom with steel siding. We also have a thick door that I made sure fit tight enough that it would be very difficult to get a claw behind.

BTW- I am so proud of me!!! I figured out how to do a multiquote on here all by myself!

Chicka, those are so sweet! I sewed for my kids; little people stuff is such fun to work on. But I swear, once BB2K started walking, she seemed magnetically attracted to mud, and those cute little girly clothes in all those bright girly colors never quite recovered . . . . I thought about just taking everything she had, and dyeing it black, just to get it over with.:th
Bunny, way back when I had a doe leave a scar on the outer side of my right wrist. I made the mistake of lowering my hand....and didn't have any kits. Just being territorial I guess.

I'll cut them some slack when they have little ones, and of course, the doe that has just hit adolescence may experiment a bit, but a doe that lays into me like that just voted herself out of the gene pool.

I'll share this - Dsqard and I collaborated on a project for a friend. Said friend raises campine chickens and it isn't a secret that said friend is going through a rough patch, her father just passed away (and I would know nothing about how life shattering that is).

Anyway, here's the finished product that we were happy to present her with and the photo it was based on:

Y'all are so thoughtful, and that is just awesome!:highfive:

Yep...you never know what those bears will decide on....

I oddly enough have not yet list livestock to bears.... but they have peeled open a wooden coop, a reinforced wooden trash box, opened up a coop door, torn down a bunch of electric rope fencing, ripped the rear windshield wiper off a car, and torn up the rear license plate.

I hear windshield wipers are delicious.

Keas seem to think so . . .

I am going to pick up young doe in the morning in Clanton. I will see if she get's better and if not, she's outa here. :smack

I've never seen any birds like those. They look like parrots. How cool being that close to them and them hot taking off! :love
