Went out this morning. Managed to get a thing of wet food in a cat dish into her nest without losing digits. Didn't see the chicks. Cleaned the ducks and goats out and kept going back, at some point she moved to be laying on top of the cat bowl.
I can hear the chicks.
But I don't see them.
I put a lamp in there with them.
Lamp died a few hours ago, got new batteries for tomorrow.
Put a bowl of water out there this evening, almost lost digits.

Further updates for the next 24 hours, then it's BF's problem.

Glad the chicks are still alive. She should be teaching them to eat, and drink. It shouldn't take too long, and hopefully she will settle down.

Took the plow truck to the shop....

Asked our longtime mechanic to make it so we could drive it to Anchorage without risk of it breaking....

After a week of work fixing stuff, I call to check up on the truck..... after he gives me the list of the rest of the stuff that needs to be fixed....he signs off by saying "I love you, bye"

Lordy..... I must have just paid for his new boat.

Yikes! The "I Love You" sentiment was nice though.

All of our cars are now at the age that repairs cost a crazy bundle... and we are perpetually asking ourselves if it is worth it to fix them or not.

Last fall when we finally decided that the Suburban was truly a lost cause. ....well....at that point Noone else would buy it.... not even for $50.

We still own it.

We have a couple of newer vehicles...but a pretty good collection of older ones too starting to need the "expensive" repairs. Same reason as you.
Here we get too attached to inanimate objects.
