I sent in for the Ancestry.com genetic test and found out that I am not German pretty much at all! I am 43% Great Briton and 32% Irish. A large part of Great Briton is also Irish so I am likely more than 32% Irish.

Something Hinky went on with the German side of my Family....

my half sister did the German side We do have cousins in Germany we have known that since the 30's where the apple rolled was the Britton side who has been here the 1800's but in Midwestern states

Now that I know I am not German, the whole WWII thing gets tossed out the window...Even though my Ottman, or alleged ottman ancestors came here in 1720...

With ww2, why would a brit claim to be German? Makes zero sense.

You know what I would look into? Hidden illegitimate ancestors. I have a few...always fun.

That happened when my DW took her DNA test. There were 5 kids in the family and two Dads. the oldest had one, the middle two had the second and the last two had the first Dad.

We do not know who my DWs Bio Dad is.

Does your DW have any guesses? I take it that there is no one left from that generation to help out, huh?
