I sent in for the Ancestry.com genetic test and found out that I am not German pretty much at all! I am 43% Great Briton and 32% Irish. A large part of Great Briton is also Irish so I am likely more than 32% Irish.

Now that I know I am not German, the whole WWII thing gets tossed out the window...Even though my Ottman, or alleged ottman ancestors came here in 1720...

With ww2, why would a brit claim to be German? Makes zero sense.
