HAPPY MONDAY
we were woke up at 2 am this morning by Angel barking and howling to find a big momma bear AND her two cubs in the Jackpine tree next to our back porch trying to get the bird feeder I had intentionally hung too high for a bear to reach from the ground. Half awake, trying to get my brain to work, I was able to figure out what was causing all the racket because the very large windchime I have (had) hanging in the tree was swinging wildly even tho there was no wind. I Aimed my flashlight and there was one of the cubs on the limb it was hanging on knocking it around and trying to pull it up! The little stinker! Needless to say my poor windchime soon went crashing to the ground with the pipes scattered at the base of the tree. Both of the little furry brats were "huffing" at me the whole time I was yelling at them to go back into the woods but one at a time the whole family backed down out of the tree and scampered off. The cubs were cute, the huge momma, not so much LOL. What was really funny was an old lady in her nightgown and the old man in his boxer shorts, standing on their back porch in the middle of the night with flashlights yelling at a tree!!!

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes :hugs Sorry I am so late responding but we have been very busy since we returned from visiting DH's dying brother. The trip went well and the visit was actually a wonderful time full of far more smiles than tears. The brother was in much better condition than expected, all things considered, and he was having a very good day, memory wise, so the brothers were able to do a bit of catching up while us girls took the pup for a walk.

Now it's Monday and finally NOT raining so it's back to work on the new coop addition, tho it is even emptier now. I told you about Ms. Dumpling's passing last week, her little friend protecting her. Her little loyal friend passed over on Saturday. I really thought we had her brucilosis on the run and she was definitely doing much better, but after her friend died she stopped eating and drinking and just seemed to give up, the light just slowly melting from her eyes, loosing interest even in her favorite mealworm treat, spending her time on the little hay pile where her friend last lay or sleeping in their favorite spot in the shade. That's where I found her Saturday afternoon. RIP sweet little Einstein.
