I will be baking bread tomorrow, in the morning before it is over 100. Supposed to go up to 112 next week.
That makes me angry and it's not even my family....lol.Not really..... Grands were so ticked when I called them last time, that I told spouse to handle it....spouse refused to handle it.
Sigh
Sitter said there looks to be enough feed in my giant trashcan feeder to use that for all animals until spouse is in town Saturday to unlock the car.
Bunch of crazy.
We have been trying to be better with the heat management. We haven't been great though..... we managed to start our hike today at 8:40.... really should have started at 7.Still though, we didn't die, yeah. We did have lots of water. And I kept thinking of you two hiking ladies.

I just called it a day. It's been a long one. DH cut down two trees and chained them into rounds. I migrated between tractor operator and loading the rounds into the bucket. By noon the temp was up and the humidity miserable. The chain saw decided to self destruct a part and while DH ran it down to the Amish neighbor who sells engines and repairs them along with selling chain saws for the needed part, I took a Tomahawk and went to work chopping out seedling trees that were trying to take over the area we had cleared earlier this spring. While I was working, I happened upon something weird. I found a pile of white chicken feathers near the pond.
I don't have any white chickens and everybody is accounted for. The neighbor who just lost their flock to a fox had some sort of backyard yellow/buff hens so I don't have any idea where a white chicken came from or why it was plucked near our pond.
Would a fox do something like make a kill and move it to a different location before taking it to its den?
We have a severe thunderstorm watch here. I've given up sitting up the bean poles we cut for the pole beans until we get through this rough weather.
