Shoot, clue. I never think ahead. Prolly would've worked, too. She kept trying to push her fat butt past me to get to the yard. I had both arms around her no-neck trying to keep her in the barn. I'm lucky she didn't step on my feet. I was wearing crocs. See. I never think ahead.

Um. I'm holding an ice cold adult beverage against it. Does that count?

I think we might be related. The only time I ever got stung working my hive was when I suited fully up, but completed my outfit with a pair of crocs. When I broke some comb, the bees got angry, so then I (not thinking) put the broken comb, covered in angry bees, next to my feet so I could continue to work the hive.

As a follow up - my pressure canning chicken stock recipe:
Cool broth; skim off and discard fat. Reheat to boiling.
Fill jars, leaving 1 inch headspace.
Process at 11 lbs pressure; pints 20 minutes, quarts 25 minutes so long as you're below 2000 feet altitude.

I got the chicks and keets moved the back pen of the coop. This seemed like a lot more work than when I used the rabbit hutch. And it seemed to take me forever.Thank goodness for baby gates...lol. Everyone seemed to take it ok...I'm sure the move will stress them a bit with the cocci. They had 1.5 days of max Amprol before the move...so we'll see. I'm always nervous with genetics that aren't my own.

It's my first time using the actual brooder light fixture but I just checked on them quietly and they all seem to be doing ok. It's nice...it's got a push button to cut the heat in half and then off. It got cooler last night than I expected...but they all seem to be spread out nicely. I just sneaked a peek at them. Now I'm off to check the raccoon situation.

I believe we also both like the harder music. Although I've mellowed a bit with age and my playlist features more Marley and Pink, there's still Saliva, Disturbed and such. And I still think that Dave Mustaine is beautiful.

Good morning Chicki! It's a rather sad setup...but I did take pics so I can keep track of which birds and when the move happened...lol. Right now it's just two baby gates tied at a 90 degree angle to corral them in 1/6th of the area until they catch on to everything. Drink and feed are on the cookie rack. Then I'll open it up and see how they get along with the couple oegb roosters and the broody hen...lol.

I sure miss this. It was built for snakes...they got it for their rabbits...and when we took their rabbit in...we bought it from them. It has two levels...but the second floor wasn't in. It's in the other shed needing a major clean. Doesn't work IN the coop...all the birds wanted to roost on it.
