Oooh I have always wanted to try working with stone. don't have the strength any more.Deb, you are progressing so much, and your work is impressive. I have never been what you'd call an artistic person, but then I had a friend who's mom was very artistic. She was doing a serenity garden in the back yard, and had this good sized rock. She didn't like the shape of it, and it was too big. I grabbed a chisel, and a small mallet, and began chipping away. When I got done, she was pleased, and claimed I was artistic. When I denied it, she explained there are lots of forms, and mediums for art, not just a canvas, and paint. So, you have found your art form, and are very artistic.
Ron, if you are zoned for chickens, or they are permitted, there's nothing your neighbors can really do. Even if you're not zoned for it, that was a lowdown thing to do. One more reason why I like a thick layer of sand under my coop, and run. Not only does it provide a lot of drainage, but you can keep the pooh washed down, and there's rarely any odor.
I got some permethrin today, and hope to mix it up tomorrow, and spray the coop, then the birds. Normally I use Sevin dust, but I think the spray will be easier.
Thanks...Deb... BRAVO!
I love it.
Its like doing Crochet... while I am learning a weave I wear my reading glasses then put on a second pair of "readers" from the drug store. Once I learn the weave it goes by feel and I can watch TV while doing it.That is so much detailed work in all the tiny wire wrapping. Just wow.![]()
I have 3 oegb roosters with the girls and they have nothing to do with each other. But the 12-14 other oegb roosters are with the big guys. It's shocking to watch how a bigger rooster may grab a little guy...but the entire bunch of little guys come to the others rescue and chase the big guys away. If the oegbs a bunch...the biggest roos won't touch the oegb pack!

A duck bill and a foot?? I guess it's duck eggs?![]()
Taken last night. So I'm reading up on ducks, I know nothing about them...lol.
The boy went in the parade in a local town. He shined his car up last night and drove it in before the bugs were out so he'd keep it clean...lol.
He didn't know we were going to show up. The look on his face...priceless! Aw heck he's only young once...we can't miss the important stuff. The hay will wait.
He won fanciest car. He's pretty happy. His friends rode with him, good kids. The one friend had flags so they helped decorate his car. (not that you can see the flags in this pic...lol) Here's a screenshot from the video.

I loved to weld...took the course in high school with 24 other guys...me being the only girl. I enjoyed it profusely. I never kept up with it, others on the farm could weld.Oooh I have always wanted to try working with stone. don't have the strength any more.
When I was in college I started in 73... I wanted to be a Computer Systems Analyst. They put me in classes for Secretaries.... I was bored to tears. I took one class called Boolean Algebra.... and LOVED it. Loved the logic the And Or Nor and calculations. I fogot to go to finals that first semester... So I switched my major to Art.
That semester I learned to Weld in Metal sculpture... And Art Composition was awesome.... Drawing I loved but because I tended to do"detail" and draw horses. The teacher made a snide comment... "People who draw horses will never draw anything else" Then later on when we were drawing a still life he said I would never be an artist.
Best things I took away from that was Learning how to weld both with acetelyne and Stick and wire.... and Art composition.
Compostion helped me become a designer eventually a tool desinger and eventually Design Engineer... doing a Manufacturing Engineer's job. All without a college degree. The mechanical part I inherited from dad.
Yep Art comes out of me just not the way I expected.... LOL.
