Flowers I planted in the veggie garden. Can you tell the grass hoppers like them?
Good afternoon. Slept good once i finally got to sleep but did not want to wake up. Another heat advisory here again today. Husband going to NS in the morning for vacation.
I missed a lot the last couple days... Pigs & pumpkins, two of my favorite things! 
The construction crew down the street took out our internet cable a couple days ago, no tv, no internet, no landline. Luckily AT&T jumped right on it & worked into the night to get it up again.
DH is scrapping the popcorn acoustic off my kitchen ceiling this weekend. Its hot, but he's trying to get it done before the heat really starts to hammer us in August & September.

Ron, that looks great.
Beer, shoot the skunk in the trap. Get 3 heavy trash bags, a hoodie, long pants, washable shoes and 2 pairs of gloves and a shovel. Get Fels Naptha laundry soap. It's a bar. You'll need a grater.
After shooting the skunk, it will release some or all of its scent. Shooting it in the head or spine helps reduce the stink.
It's really nice if it is cool, the scent doesn't linger as long.
Hood up. Tuck everything in that you can.
Get the skunk out of the trap and into a bag. Seal the bag best you can. Put the bag into the second bag and then deposit your outer gloves in that bag. Seal that bag. Deposit inner gloves in regular trash after moving the bag to the back of your truck to take to the dump. Strip and put your clothes into the wash. Wash 2 cycles start to finish with Fels Naptha. Then smell. Keep washing if need be. Dry only when the skunk odor is out. Usually 2-3 washes for me.

This weekend my goal was to chisel out a gravestone that had broken off in its base. Realistically I thought it would take 8 hours from start to finish.
At hour 4 of chiseling and the stone still not budging, and my thumb and first finger feeling awful from being hammered so many times, I gave up.

Will take the base over tomorrow, dig out the old base (again). Dig the old base into a new hole behind where the new base will be (for historical accuracy and if anyone comes up with a better method of restoration).

Poured a new base back at home. Not my best work, but not terrible.
An hour later it was set and we popped it out. It was still too hot to go in the car (as it sets it's an exothermic reaction), will put it in tomorrow.
