Get a nice hot bath and have a warm drink.I just turned the pellet stove on. It didn't hit 60 here today, and I worked outside in the rain all day in a graveyard (not in my town, back training with the guy from NY). I am soaked and completely filthy and freezing.
Keep the faith! That hit us first then last night's low was back up near 50o and today we were back into the 70's and supposed to hold that thru the weekend. The maps looked like this was heading your way as well.Yup, summer in The Great Northeast is over.
The garden, half the grass and the flowers got watered. Will do the other half of the grass in the morning. So excited to get started on my chicken coop tomorrow. It is going to be 8'x10'. I am going to subdivide it so i can have two breeds of chickens.![]()
Wicked just pppppppppppp'd on us.![]()
It's been busy all around and I wanted to sit down and read when I had enough time to absorb everything on here. I didn't mean for it to be a week and a half later. Yikes! So sad about donrae. Hopefully her passing was a peaceful one. One breath in this life and the next in Heaven. Comforting thoughts and prayers to her family, friends and loved ones. Rest in peace.
SGC. I read that tombstone and had a catch in my throat. Am I reading that right? 12 years old and dying in 1816? I oft times find myself in old cemeteries standing and staring at tombstones such as this one, wondering what life was like for the person who's name is on the stone and trying to visualize it in my mind. I also find myself wondering if what killed them then wouldn't have been curable today?
What killed a 12 year old? Accident? Infection? Flu? Appendicitis?
Would he or she have survived their illness today?
I truly admire you and your husband's work.
Thanks Wicked. Nice seeing you pop in! Don't be a stranger!
Checked my broody this morning. 4 out of 7 hatched with one zipping. Two not doing anything. One is the egg with the air cell at the top of the egg instead of the bottom and the other I thought may have quit somewhere mid gestation. Momma is a little nervous but otherwise doing well for a first time broody. She doesn't seem to like the little ones moving around under her too much but in the next instant is calling to them and dropping down tiny bites of mash for them. I think she's going to do fine.
Bad kitties!well may have killed all my eggs as in cats turned the heat way down not
sure when![]()
Yes!What's that old saying, they aren't dead until they are all warm and dead.
I'd give them a chance to warm up really well and then candle. Hopefully you will be surprised.
How far are they along?that is just what I am doing turned the temp back over about 4 hours honestly
not sure all eggs seems much to liquid ?
