Is your pot a coil pot or is it thrown?
Always wanted to learn how to use a pottery wheel and throw clay. DH has offered to buy or make a small kiln for me and we have an abundance of pure clay on the farm. The possibilities are endless.
I woke up with Laryngitis this morning. Probably allergy induced so no reason to go to the doctor. I'm taking about 4 different antihistamines now. All I can do is outlive it. DH is enjoing the peace and quiet.
Yesterday I was looking out the kitchen window and kept seeing something falling out of one of the shag bark hickory trees behind the house in the woods. I went out back and watched, sure enough there was a squirrel in the top of the tree oinking out on immature hickory nuts and tossing the hulls to the ground. The tree is full of nuts this year. Sure wish I could eat them....back to the old allergy problem again. Sigh. Nothing like being allergic to one of your favorite snack foods.
Last night I was playing a rousing game of 'hunt the chick' as I went to lock up and couldn't find one of the youngsters in the grow out pen. I looked everywhere and was about one step away from a blind panic when I thought to look in the old coop. Sure enough, There was baby, happily sitting on the roost bar cuddled up to momma. She is back to normal and singing her egg song so I was surprised that she didn't send the baby packing. More surprised that baby made it up to the old roost bar.
I'm off to make breakfast. Home made whole wheat bread toast from an Amish recipe. I took a break in construction to bake some bread yesterday. Oink-fest time!
