The Old Folks Home

I am getting grouchy with too much attention from this dog , and the heat. But i got the boards for the back wall together and painted them. And painted others that are already part of a wall. Love the bright yellow!
I'm trying to motivate myself to get out there and do something...lol. The dog better not come near me! :lau He's old...he won't. He know when I'm grouchy..lol.

We will never get along with paint colors. That's ok.:hugs

I have always liked bright colors. Doing yellow inside, maybe brown outside. May be putting peeled cedar slabs on the outside to make it look rustic like the cabin. The yellow will help the light bounce around inside. May not have power to the coop for a while. I am considering putting old shower doors in the roof as sky lights.

And I like mostly dark colors and the cool tones. There are no warm tones in my pallet with the exception of my brown chickens...lol.

Everything's blue based; starting with black, then to blue based greys...nd then to white...then blue. I will accept bright candy apple red as a contrasting color. :lau:confused:
I use white as you use yellow. :thumbsup

Penny totally snuck away on her trip before we got to wish her a happy birthday.

Be sure to take pictures of how you use the old shower doors (how you frame them and install them). I have some in our master bath (walk-in shower size) that may be getting replaced in the future.

Sometimes you can get old ones free on craigslist, or I saw some for $10 at habitat for humanity.

Just harvested and tore apart the tops of my Egyptian walking onions for seeding tomorrow. Hope I'm over run in them next yr.

Love those. Mostly because my favorite grandparent grew them.

I tried them at least once up here....no go.

I'm anxious to hear about the garlic, @Beer can. I had a friend dig up garlic and give it to me late spring last year. I had no choice but to stick it in the ground and hope for the best. It has never done anything. It comes up in the spring, looks like onion sprouts, then it dies back and I wind up mowing it down. The sprouts have a very strong garlic smell to them but they have never formed heads. I'm pretty sure that it is due to the time of the year I planted it. Am I correct?

No heads/bulbs at all? Sure those aren't chives?

As i was trying to talk to my mother on the cell phone, Mini decided it was a good time to chase the kittens! Almost knocked over the tray table, and my drink went flying. Luckily, i had the cap screwed on just in case. She seems to feel that if she doesn't knock my drink over at least three times a day, she is not doing her job. Sigh. I had Mom hold the phone, and put the dog in her crate. Peace at last. Except the cat is going in heat again and needs to meow 24/7.
The last wall is almost done, waiting for a board to dry. Thought i might be short a board, but it was hiding under a 10 foot one. Then, add some screws for extra strength and i can get the neighbors to help me put them up! So excited!
