The Old Folks Home

my poor boys are abused..... they know that in general, if they don't ask, they don't get.

Also, there are no underwear sold at the used clothing stores in town...so it has been eons since they have gotten new ones.

Its probably time to bite the bullet.... then.

nope... can't happen....

a week worth of underwear, for 5 kids, at 23 bucks per pair?

No way could that happen.

No way does a single pair of underwear need to cost that much.

Ravyn had a good suggestion.... have him sew his own.

:)

you can learn anything off of youtube.

She beat me to it. Sew your own.
To be honest, a friend bought me a pair of Duluth work pants. They are expensive, but they are comfortable, lightweight but very sturdy, dry almost on contact (yes, I sprayed myself with the hose again last night) and don't bunch or chafe. I watched their sales for a few weeks and picked up 2 more pairs at a cost I can live with.

My first daikon radish, was a seed mixed in with regular little red radishes. Think I'll grow these next yr.
Was 1 lb 2 oz. I've never ate cooked radish before so I'm going to chop it up sauteed with the tops add some pork and soy sauce.

Now THAT'S a radish!

Fruit of the Loom makes a long leg boxer brief, which is about the same as what he's talking about. A 5 pack is $18.99 if you buy it direct from them. There are just some things you don't buy used. Underwear is one of those things.

now that is a reasonable price!

As to used underwear... must be a law...because they never sell them at the thrift stores.

Even when I was a kid, they couldn't sell underwear or pajamas. I remember because my grandma volunteered at a charity thrift store, they got all of the clothes from a man that had just died, I got the man''s pajamas since they couldn't go to the store.

I thought it was cool to get them. He must have been old, because his pajamas was this very old fashioned night shirt, just like in the movies. I wore that thing until the fabric wore out. (clearly my parents were just as frugal as I am in regards to clothing. :lau )

Do you like them more than Carhartts?

Spouse bought a pair of those Duluth pants...

I am down to only two pairs of pants...one pair that has slight visibility of my rear, and one pair that is still solid but has a couple of half cuts on the front legs.

I like Carhartts though. I watch Sierra trading post, and wait until I get a really great coupon, and use that on Carhartts that are seconds. ..so a new pair costs me $15 to $20.

I guess I should look at their underwear... humm..... I just see underwear as a luxury item.
