The Old Folks Home

I never wanted a log splitter before. Few yrs ago TSC had 28ton on sale for the same price as the 22ton, $500 off at the time. It was the last Huskee they had when they were changing the name to CountryLine. DW asked me if I wanted it....HUH!? Seriously?
I almost said nah.
Glad I got it. Still split a lot of wood with the maul but those ones I used to have to get out the heavy quarry sledge and splitting wedge, and sometimes even have to cut a start with the saw, no more, that splitter eats that stuff up.

I kinda felt is was time to make a few things easier he does it all as James has a bad heart so he could do the log splitter also I think I could

My FIL is 79, 80 in April. He doesn't like the looks of my splitter sets up too high can be towed with a truck on the road. It does swing up to vertical for giant chunks but I don't often.
His is a small old one and has wheels but only to move it around, has it sunk in ground level so he just has to roll the chunks on. And has a pvc pipe connected to the handle so he can stand up and run it. Old timer thinks of everything 'think smarter not harder' lol.:old

Alaskan is your firewood on fire?

Hurricane Irma is fixin to whop us. First my kids and everyone in Florida then head our way. :hit
I hear the rides that take forever (hr+) to get on at Disney are no wait right now. Lol.
I have a few friends and family down there. One friend lives near Tallahassee (was a neighbor but got himself a 'mail order bride' from the Philippines and she didn't like our cold winters Lol) , I figured he'd not get much but the way it's looking the whole state's going to get walloped.

It was like a dateing thing. Went over with a group, they met a group, all safely and publicly. Few dates get to know each other, he went back over a couple more times met the family and eventually married her over there and then a long process before she got to move here. Made it easier beings most of them know English already. I think it cost him some $$ , was a long haul truck driver at the time so he had it.
We did pick on him quite a bit, especially over the long process of moving her here, "Yeah right your just waiting for her to turn 18 ain't ya! Lol"
