Wooo hooo

I spent the afternoon out in the back pasture with DH taking the slash off of a tree we dropped yesterday, piling it and burning it. DH is working on improving his RC runway and the now deceased tree was attempting to snag a plane every time he tried to land.

CapricornFarm, I like the deck. You will love it in warm weather. Are you planning to put a top over it?

I pulled the last of the sad looking moulty standard sized hens from the bantam coop today and put them in with the equally sad, moulty roosters. It is amazing how they appear to breath a sigh of relief when they see the standard roosters. They litterally walk up to them and squat then get on with business of taking a dirt bath without being mobbed by a passel of hormonal munchkin roosters.

No problems with insomnia here. I just can't figure out why I wake up every morning at 1 AM and lay there blinking up at the ceiling for about 15 minutes, then go back to sleep. I know better than to get up and sit down at the computer. I'd never get back to sleep then.

No roof, no screened porch. DH does not want to discuss it. Pooh. I would love a screened porch for the cats and to keep the danged bugs out.

Actually, this has been studied, apparently the human species isn't designed to sleep for 1 long stretch of time and back in victorian era, it was common to have midnight parties where people would go to sleep, sleep a few hours, then get back up in the middle of the night, party or chat for a while, then go back to bed for a few more hours. Science says that the only thing harmful about it is that if you wake up and then stress about falling asleep that you are less likely to go back to sleep. They recomend that you read or do something else quiet and non electronic (the blue light will make it hard to go back to sleep) until you start feeling sleepy again and then go back to sleep.
