The Old Folks Home

Diva we have those devilish things here also and between them and the frogs I can only sleep if I keep the tv on.
Plus the guy with the fish ponds on the other side of the prison for some reason has turned his air cannon on every dang NIGHT! UGH!
Probably those danged herons eating his fish. Those things are relentless. I lost some koi to those lousy birds. Breaks your heart after raising them from little ones to see them speared.

I was afraid Mini would try to eat the chickens and guineas but she is really good with them. I held them for her to sniff and get the scent. She seems to know i am in charge of the animals. She even brings me live baby wild bunnies!

Ours only bring us dead bunnies and raccoons.:sick

Last week we were back in the woods and our old Border Collie, Lu, came trotting up to us with the spinal column, rib, and leg bones of some critter she had found and laid it at our feet. We thanked her for her gift and hurried her along. A few minutes later, our cattle dog came up to her, sniffed her breath, wobbled off (he has degenerative neuropathy) and 10 minutes or so later, showed back up, skeleton firmly in his mouth. He'd tracked the skeleton by its smell on Lu's breath.

This same dog found a nest of rabbits in our blackberry arbor, mortally injured one and left it in front of one of the then pups and proceeded to kill another for himself. I'm sure he was teaching the pup how to hunt and kill it's own food.

Sometimes dogs simply amaze me.The day is going to come that we will have to say goodby to our cattle dog due to the degenerative disease he has. He is going to be missed when the day comes that we have to say goodbye. Thankfully, that isn't today. DH is styling a doggie wheelchair for him and the vet put him on steroids. They have helped enough that our boy doesn't want anything to do with that wheelchair....yet.

My 14 year old Papillon amazed me when he survived being run over by my Mule! He has lost weight and he has a bit of a problem with one eye and one nostril. But i thought for sure he would die when i saw blood running out his nose and mouth. He was walking hunched up for a while but that cleared up and he walks up the driveway to watch me build chicken coop every day. Amazing!

Paps are such beautiful dogs - I hope he continues to do better.
Thanks, tonight i crushed up three of his favorite treats for him. He was fending off the cat for it. I let him have some chicken tonight but i have to be careful what i feed him because he gets diarrhea with diet changes. I wet down his kibble to see if he will eat more that way. Poor fella, not many teeth to work with. I would get another Pap in a heartbeat, but i think husband is at his limit right now with these kittens.

Thanks so much for all the info @Beer can I thought you were just calling it a squeezo thing... Imagine that... it really is its name :lau So when you said:
"I motorized mine with a 7yr old " is that (this) the picture you provided?

She looks like she's having a blast really... Kids... sometimes great to have around :) Man, I could make some serious sauce with that machine. When peeling and de-seeding by hand, I have a broke back for a week afterwards. :(

It makes me giggle too! I thought I'd go for the appearance of being "sweet" before October shows up and all the wicked comes out. ;)

For some reason it makes me think of @Cynthia12...I hope it wasn't one of her pics. I don't remember where it came from.
Not one of mine, but here is a really cute one of Jack, a goldendoodle that was supposed to be a mini. Man this pup got big! Full size. I let a daughter that has 5 boys have him.

And hey, no need to hide. I wouldn't mind a bit if you shared a photo. :)
