The Old Folks Home

That's great that you both have been able to do that with your coop and run designs.

Mine should have been thought out better. This clay we have is like trying to walk on ice.
I just couldn't get around with my hip going out Iike I needed to.
But it's all good. I still have some wonderful memories and I enjoyed having my birds. I did get to help inspire others to as well.
Hip replacement?

I think I have found a way to add to my flock without adding to the feed bill:

We have a large shop that has a small enteranceway with a western exposure that I use to winter over potted elephant ears and cannas.

It never freezes in there, I occasionally water the ones that are still sprouting but other than that,no worries.

I would think that with your location they would be okay with a heat lamp. Are you going to be getting any solar heating through the plastic 'tent' you are putting up?

My carport is already up. We had the rabbits in it. Now I am going to use the back half of it for my plants. It is made by ShelterLogic and it's made of white tarps.
I will have to cover the front with plastic but I thought of just using the old chick heat lamps I have on the trees when it goes down to freezing. During the day it's like being in the shade. So I think it would be ok during the daytime.

Ron the Dr. won't think about a hip replacement till the one I have is completely gone.
Ins. I guess. I keep putting it back in the hole. lol

Bunnylady I love your little flock! Oh my goodness! I need SOME!
Did you check to see if the hip replacement device was on recall?

You would think that the Dr. would check but these things are not always checked by them

I have not had a hip replacement yet. I am waiting for it to be bad enough for them to do the replacement. In the mean time my leg has a mind of it's own at times it goes one way and I go down the other. It get's embarrassing! :lau

How do they determine bad enough?

Do you need to keep going to the Dr. for it a certain number of times? Get a couple of cortisone shots?
:pop
I am interested for the future. I suspect a hip or knee replacement might be in my future...I do have a bit of pain in my left hip and my left knee has given me problems before
