The Old Folks Home

I had a Sheltie on a diet take a whole chicken with dressing in it off the counter and eat the whole thing while i was taking a phone call! She pushed the pan under the table so when i came back it seemed like our dinner just vanished!

@penny1960 You are one tough little Penny!:bow

We were gone most of the day also. We went into the big city...well what passes for the big city around here....and got home around 5. Two farm supply stores looking for tractor parts, then a friend's house for a quick visit, then to the much dreaded Wally World to pick up some OTCs which are as much as I hate to admit it cheaper there and while there buy groceries (I hate Walmart:heI hate Walmart:heI hate Walmart:he) There, now I feel better. Then a quick stop by the Crossing thrift store to look for t-shirts to wear around the farm....nada followed by a stop by the vets for medicine for two dogs. I got home, threw a package of think sirloin sandwiche steaks on the counter for supper and ran out to take care of the birds all the while thinking about how good those steak sandwiches where going to taste along with some oven cooked French fries, got back in to discover that one of our younger dogs had a wonderful steak dinner. :duc:duc:duc:hitDH had walked by the counter once and moved the package but somehow they managed to reach it and had an oink fest. :duc:duc:duc:hit

DH just told me that one of them was acting like it had an upset stomach. My response was GOOD!

I came up with another package of steaks that I thin cut and made for dinner....I love our dogs I love our dogs I love our dogs......

So the glucosamine really works? Our vet had us giving it to our ACD before we found out he has Degenerative Myelopathy. He said to make sure to use the Glucosamine Condroitin with MSM in it as it helps it absorb better.

I
Most research on people shows that glucosamine does not help with joints. One study showed that it helped make anti inflammatory work again after the body stopped responding to them. That stopped the pain though

Oh that is just too funny. I don't feel so bad now...except the guilty dog is now laying behind me on the couch passing gas:sick probably from eating all that sirloin steak!

my bandit a very small cat for a male coop 018.jpg the cream colored one will forever haul meat out off the sink then to the floor the dogs are in the laundry room at least 3 are 2 are on the screen porch but that leaves the cats to be rotten ... we have taken to putting meat in the sink then a cooling wrack over that then a towel from the kitchen last a gallon jar of dog cookies to keep him out of it

Our cats are angels compared to the dogs. About the only thing the cats will try to pirate is when I have a glass of milk and then there are a couple who will inevitably stick their noses in the glass and lap away if I don't kwwp an eye on them. I think they would rather eat vegetables and die than help the dogs to a good meal, LOL.

As for countertops, we have two cats who are brother and sister. Brother is a huge 18 pound blonde tiger and sister is a 7 pound diminutive little grey. Jim knows that his food is always at the end of the kitchen island and he is permitted on only that end of the island as the diabetic cat cannot eat his food and cannot jump up to the island. He never gets on the countertop. Sister though will regularly get on the counter and all I have to do is look at her and say 'Rules!' and she immediately jumps down.

Dumb animals indeed. I think not.

We have 5 of the darlings in the house there is my two Rocky is 18 lbs Mom was a Siamese he was born in my presence... his dad I have no idea but has long hair and is huge... Then the guys had 3 from 1 litter Shadow is a very tiny female all black total witch to the 4 boys.. Freckle is a tabby look but not much bigger he and bandit are great buds... the other monster cat is Tuxedo black and white almost as large as Rocky but not quite... Not a dumb one in the bunch

I remember my mom pulled out the oven shelf to see if the cake was done baking. While she looked for a toothpick, our first Cocker bit a huge hole out of the middle of the cake. I can't remember if he ate it or not but, he had steam coming out of his mouth.

Many years later my mom opened the broiler and went for pot holders -she never learned to do things first then open the door. Our little cocker was standing on the hot broiler and licking the steak. Don't they feel pain in their foot pads?

Cockers are real gluttons for food. Little cocker's mother was standing on the kitchen table eating plain spaghetti out of the colander. I can't remember but, knowing how my mother hated to throw things out, bet she rinsed the leftover spaghetti and served it to us anyway.
