The Old Folks Home

All the buildings got tinned about 20 years ago. Unfortunately that building was a seed grainery and it was covered before anyone had a chance to empty it. MIL was a bit hasty.
It's still sitting with seed wheat in it. :th I want to get it cleaned out and use it. We have to get the cleaner out. I'd like to permethrin it and paint it inside. Before the chickens are moved in...View attachment 1159041

we are putting up a pole building to replace my main coop the geodesic is starting to bow in the girders not sure how much longer it will last

Ha! I was looking at a water tower today and thinking how much space there is for chickens in there!:lau
:highfive: We've considered the 1300 bu bins here. I just came across some lovely conversions people have done to them. I bet a water tower could be done up nicely...lol.

It's somewhat comparable...not quite as cold but close. Thank you! :wee

:clap
No problem. I had 20 plus coops there. Plus goat sheds, rabbit cages, a barn, a lean to that we closed in and assorted tractors. They were all painted, lol!

Oh wow...I'd like to do that here for all the sheds. Or at least "most" of the sheds...lol.

I painted each one as i went along. Sometimes even paint boards before assembling. The barn was open in the front , and i insisted we close it in for birthing goats and new babies. Then DH built a loft and we stored enough hay to last most winters. I even had a section to store bags of shavings. Wish i had that barn now! Still waiting on these guys to start building!

We have been here going on 3 year's hard to believe we have 3 coops up let alone all with chickens in them but still looking forward to getting the pole building up we save our coins all year this last we will go another year put metal on the house roof also
