The Old Folks Home

I have a very hard time trying to open bottles and jars. I looked on ebay for a vintage jar opener like one my mom had. It worked great, and I found one.
It had some rust on it but I got a good price so I got it and soaked it over night in some vinegar. This morning it looked a lot better but still had some rust on it. So I added some baking soda and let it soak a couple more hours. I was liking it so much better.
But it still had a couple little dots on it. So I did a bit of fine sanding on it.
Here is a before and after pic.

Morning everyone and welcome to the thread @Parront! Glad you could pull up a rocker and join us all.

Funny that you brought up IBS. I have it and had a flare last night. Truly miserable. I wish I could figure out what the trigger foods are so I could avoid them. Last night I think it was icecream with chocolate syrup. But I ate it just a few days earlier and nada. BUT it was a different brand so maybe that was it.

Told DH I guess it was time to do an elimination diet. It's a hard way to get a flatter tummy:tongueo_O

Article on some news show last night about dairy allergies, specifically A1 and A2 proteins. Certain cows produce one or the other. The gist of the story was that many lactose intolerances are not to lactose at all but to A1 proteins. So the company is selling A2 milk and suddenly people are enjoying dairy again.

I only mention this because you mentioned your varying reactions to the same food, e.g., ice cream.

Me? I've switched to goat milk. I'm trying to eliminate dairy altogether, but -- dang -- I love my cheese, butter, milk, yogurt, etc. Allergy panel says cow products don't love me back, so we experiment.

Taking screen shots off the old phone. Better than nothing. Took phone to Walmart and they tried to get them off but no luck.

I have been getting A2 milk for my daughter.
There was one study that showed A1 mild being associated with heart problems while A2 did not cause the problem.
Sadly the A2 milk is a bit pricey. It does seem to work as advertised though
