The Old Folks Home

The rumors of power returning to central Maine are true. Still have friends out but I am back. Lots of clean up today.
And yes, hands clean was the worst part. It is another circus to add a farm to power outages.
:celebrate:woot

I'm back too! So happy to hear you've been turned on.
(Did I just say that?) :duc

Congratulations @superchemicalgirl for leaping back into the 21st century!:ya

@Latestarter, we moved out of Illinois for the same reason. If we had been able to we would have moved farther south but we needed to find retirement property that we could drive to and work on over the weekends and on holidays and drive back to Illinois to work during the week. Chicago politics taking over the state was the breaking point for us along with high taxes and cost of living. The people are great, especially the farm people but I don't miss the rest of it at all.

I have an old friend in Tx that keeps trying to sell us a house in the piney woods near Crockett Texas. I told her that we just got the boxes all unpacked from the last move and have no desire to repeat that exercise.

Hey everybody, remember to turn your clocks back an hour tonight!

micro, I'm in total agreement about not ever wanting to have to move again. We faced similar situations, in that we really wanted to move further out, but couldn't couldn't, since Dh is not fully retired yet. Of course, Dh has always wanted to move back to Indiana. He's from a small town up there. I suggested anywhere in the south, but I don't want to live up north.

scg,
congrats.gif

Thanks. Still a massive amount of clean up here. I need to clean out the fridges and freezers. BF went to boston with the truck, and i really dont want to do it in my car, plus the 2000 other people in this town are likely doing the same thing today since the dump is open today and i think they finally cleared a path to the dump.

Congrats Scg on getting your power back on! :celebrate

Ron I also hope the fires are done for Call.
I do miss being able to drive to the mountains and camp and trips to the beach.
The gulf always feels like a warm bath.
Nothing refreshing about it at all to me. Dh can't relate.

I sincerely hope when dh retires we can find a couple acres on some water somewhere.

It took us forever to find a place on the river with acreage. Looked in 5 states and drove thousands of miles searching. Still regret no bath tub here.

It is great to have power again! Showers, fresh water- Living the life!

I will check later this week to see if the fire restrictions are lifted.

It would be great if so!
