The Old Folks Home

Good for you! May you continue to be so blessed.

Our septic system got reconstructed before we moved in... Discovered the "other" leech field lines that were discontinued. We've no idea what caused such a massive failure that they had to put in new lines to other parts of the property. We had to pump because someone ("ahem, DH") forgot/neglected to clean the filter and it backed up big time.
We recently had a new toilet installed in the MB which uses less water and had to have the line snaked because apparently there wasn't enough umpff in the flush volume to hoist things over a ridge of sediment that built up (possibly from construction debris/dirt) in the line from when we reworked the plumbing.
Whenever you sell a house as one of the conditions of sale you are required to pump the tank...at least with every property I've ever bought or sold.
I would imagine the quality and condition of your soil and your daily water consumption might also play a factor in how often tanks need to be pumped. I know that "downtown" here in the Village they're putting in a regular sewer line because the commercial district's businesses' septic tanks cannot handle the volume of, say, the Bistro or the church or community center. They're getting pumped regularly because things cannot leech out fast enough for the volume placed therein.

The rumors of power returning to central Maine are true. Still have friends out but I am back. Lots of clean up today.
And yes, hands clean was the worst part. It is another circus to add a farm to power outages.

most excellent!

:celebrate:woot

I'm back too! So happy to hear you've been turned on.
(Did I just say that?) :duc

No worries! ;) That is a good thing to be. :lau

Hey everybody, remember to turn your clocks back an hour tonight!

I love sleeping extra! (we do get to sleep extra, right??)

the dump is open today and i think they finally cleared a path to the dump.

cleared a path? What was in the path?

Speaking of snow, been shoveling all morning.
The very heavy wet stuff, whoopee.
