The Old Folks Home

I got asked if I drink yesterday. :lau I like wine. Most wine I think. But I only have a glass or two on special occasions like Thanksgiving and such. So when the doctor asked me that I laughed out loud...lol!!!

I disappeared yesterday because I had an appointment with the walk in doctor who had called for new blood work when she refilled my prescriptions for the diabetic meds I take. Apparently she's concerned about a few things; she upped my db meds because I'm not quite under control (which I knew) and changed it to twice a day so I'd remember. And she called for another blood test for me yesterday because my liver enzymes are higher again than last time.

I wasn't sure the first time I saw her...but she must have studied back and saw I missed my physical last year (I thought I had) so I'm set to go back next week and get up-to date there. She questioned about the mammogram I had previously and what family had cancer. When she found out every woman in my close family has or has had cancer and that my mom died decades ago...it sounds like she's sending me in again!

I was impressed! It's not easy to impress me. She's whipping me into shape! :lau Maybe she will be my new doctor...since I don't have one. She also told me to get Vitamin B12 to help my memory. I told her I was going to buy a weekly pill dispenser to keep track...but what did I do? I forgot to buy it! :lau Taking B12 right away. :p

last time at my new Dr he wanted me on vitamin D had me do another blood test said it was better but still low he wants me on 12000 per day .... hmm these are fluid filled D mine are 5000 ui so am taking 3 now said new blood work in 2 months

Yes I have a pellet stove and 2 wood stoves.

I have homework tonight - I'm supposed to make the patient NPO this evening, then do q1 hr vital signs complete with output measurement and blood pressures. At least that's what I got from what the furnace guy said over the phone today.

I'm going to make him regret this - he's getting a nursing flow sheet with my q1 hr checks, in metric.

It's going to be p.r., p.r.n.
