Ouch!
I usually do stuff like that when we are splitting wood. I have had a large round shift and tumbled down off the pile and hit me on the shin. That makes you dance. I have a numb spot under my knee on my left leg probably from my back problems. I cut the are on barbed wire once and never felt it so I can sympathize.
We were burning brush two years ago and DH had a hot ember fall down between his shoe and foot. Luckily he wasn't wearing socks because if he had it would have melted the fabric to his skin. As it was it blistered him royally and the burn wound up getting infected. He worked most of the summer getting it healed up.
We've decided that farm living is hazzardous to your health, LOL.
