I tore both right and left knee MCL in Yosemite in June. How long did they tell her it would take to recover? I'm still in recovery.
She was told that it needed to be looked at again in 4 days and that recovery is about 4 weeks. I bet the mean 4 months though....

@chickadoodles, I love your new avatar. That chick is so cute.

No fun tearing your knees up, or your shoulders for that matter. I think tears are as painful as fractures and take just as long to heal.

@ronott1, take care of DW. Sorry she fell and got hurt. Now is the time for her to pamper herself and take it easy. That's not always easy for us women to do.;)
Thanks!

She is propped up with a brace on. Had Ice and took diclofenac(and anti inflammatory).

Thanks Micro it's a bronze turkey poult.
I love your ballerina hen avatar!
Thanks chicka. It's from a birthday card my SIL sent me this year. I fell in love with the picture.

Well, @bruceha2000, my husband used them for years and the sharp edges do bite into the ice. I'll report how they do when we have our first ice event. Anything to keep from sliding on glare ice, slamming into a fence post and breaking ribs not to mention injuring my back is worth a try.

My sympathies on the MCL.
I tore mine in a skiing accident as a 5th grader. ACE bandage for 4 weeks, but knee is weak and has been so for the 40+ years afterwards. Compensation (and probably lots of posting when riding horses) have led to a bit of interesting xrays recently. The tech asked "So... Is one knee more sore than the other?" Osteophytes now. Oy. Still getting by on Turmeric, hyaluronic acid, occasional Naproxen and avoiding really cold weather. (Okay... and some bourbon on occasion) ;)

Happy birthday, Cynthia! Heckuva way to celebrate, though. Hope you're mending is noneventful.

I zapped my right knee one year riding my dirt bike across our pasture before it was mowed. I hit a hidden log in the tall grass and my bike tried to high side me. I managed to catch it before it went down with my right leg but the knee got tweeked really good. I went to the doctor and he said I tore tendons. Didn't go into detail...don't ask, don't want to know, lol. Knee brace for riding but I'm noticing arthralgia in it now.

@Peep_Show how do you take your turmeric? Do you make your own capsules or are you using tincture? I tired it when I was fighting Lyme and it tended to make me sick to my stomach.

I hear ha Penny. I have a stomach from Hades on a good day. I'd like to try it again. If I remember, I tolerated it for awhile before my stomach went south with it. I hate to stir my stomach up. It takes so long to settle it back down again so if Turmeric oil is available or tincture maybe I could go that route.....for awhile.
