The Old Folks Home

And none of them flooded or burned :)

That wouldn't work here a week after the water in it froze ;) That is why those drain down spigots exist. Gotta bury the pressure water line below the frost line and can't leave any water in the vertical pipe when it shuts off.

Yeah the hose freezes.... I buy good rubber ones. I do want to bury a water line made of pvc.... But we only need to dig down about fifteen inches at most.

One of the things the original owner did was to sleeve the pipes that come out of the ground for the faucets.... using vent pipe about eight inches in diameter.... the sleeves were filled with sand. I suspect it was their way of protecting the vertical PVC.

We have two of the frost free spigots. The one at the back of the coop started getting hard to lift two winters ago when it was really cold out so I stopped using it and had the guy that dug our well and installed it 14 years earlier come out and look at it. Only needed a small part (like a gasket thingee) and now works like new. I'd have to carry water from the house if I didn't have the spigot.View attachment 1192826

This is amazing. I have the same duck dish I think it is for concrete but it is their summer dish. I'm surprised you don't have more ice formed with all the duck splashing.

Figured out a bunch of stuff to buy on Joann fabrics for their Wednesday sale. Last night before I went to bed the cart emptied without warning so I had to find it all and enter it again. I got up at 11, the sale starts at midnight, to find my laptop had shut off. Turned it back on, thankfully the cart was still saved. Then laptop died and won't turn back on. Pretty sure god does not want me to make more pillowcases.

It is just the internet messing with you. I would rather go look at fabric in person, it takes forever online. I don't think there is a Joanne fabrics less than 90 minutes from here, unless there is one in Lynchburg.

No he plugged it back into the wall. I do recall earlier this evening almost falling out of my chair, and hitting the cat basket under my desk and flipping it. Must have ripped the cord out of the wall with that graceful move.
Mini does stuff like that to me all the time, usually spilling my drink in the process! Or getting paint on herself.
