The Old Folks Home

Not bad, Cap, thank you for asking. Big problem today has been fatigue. I took it easy then this afternoon went for a walk with DH in the timber. Now that it's time to call it a day I'm feeling pretty energetic. It never fails!

How about you?
Good! I am a night person so it can be hard to fall asleep
Had fun shopping today, bought a table saw! For my:gigself!

You sound like me! I'd do something like that! DH and I need to get a table saw. Too many projects around the farm. We were looking at one at China Freight (AKA Harbor Freight) the other day. We've gotten some good tools there and a few dogs. May look at one at Home Depot or the Menards once it opens in Kirksville.

I'm a night person also. Can't change the old circadian clock to save my soul. I've been trying to get to bed by 10:30- 11 but I still am awake at midnight most nights. Then I want to sleep in late. Too many years of working second shift. It goes rough on me when I have fatigue problems like today.

In my younger days I would get off shift at 11:15. Home by 11:30 unless I went out with friends afterwards to Denny's or for a drink. Bed by 2, up at 8 or earlier so I could ride my horse and take care of her. Some days I could get by on 4 hrs sleep then crash and burn on my day off and sleep for 12 hours.

Man I'd give anything to be able to do that again. In fact, past my bedtime now. Think I'll call it a day.

Night All!

I'm a night person too always have been. School was awful getting up at 6:30 am and walking to a bus stop. Now on the senior bus have to call in(day ahead) at 8 am for bus or up 8am to put garbage out once week. Then I go back to sleep. I have easily slept 14 hours or so. I usually stay up to 5-6-7 am and then head for bed.
I'm taking week off because out of spending $$$ anyway. So I can go back and sleep more. Some days I am definitely befuddled or something - screw up badly if I do go shopping, lose things, can't remember what to get and so on. In other words typical day for me.

DD i take a list with me. But if i misplace it i sometimes get home without things i need. Not getting enough sleep can really mess you up.

What? No long underwear or bearskins to keep you warm?

long Johns go on in the fall, and off in the spring. ;)

I fully expect to see @Alaskan on one of the reality 'Alaska survival' programs that are so popular on National Geographic channel or Disc.

On second thought, maybe we'll see his family........

my kids are cute, and a hoot. They would be awesome.

I still remember kid #4 helping kid #5 gut his first chicken. kid #4 kept telling him that if he didn't learn how to do it well, he would grow up to be a city slicker! Not to worry though, kid #4 was a good teacher. ;)
