The Old Folks Home

Alaskan did score 2 pints(okay just 14 oz.) of Haagen Daz Rocky Road and of course ate them back to back. I was feeling a bit ill this time. Guess I will just have to cut back to one at a time. The several Tums did help though.Besides 2 cost $ 7.00 on sale. If I want to continue at this rate I would need a "go fund me."

I think social security Cola will be 2% this next year. Last year was 1% and I got a $ 1.hike no joke, so maybe I'll get $ 2. My fried Arline got $ 5. of course her husband passed away many years ago and she gets his SS which was more money than hers.

Could you feed the other cats in one room and her in another? Pick up the food when they stop eating?
We could try. It would have to be the bathroom ... where the preferred litter box is.
I would have to be around to see when she wants to go for more food.

They should make a Roomba with a quart-sized canister.
Never having seen one, they don't? No WONDER the poor little thing gets full too fast. I imagine it doesn't take too much fluffy hair and dust bunnies to take up a lot of volume with a lot of air space left over.

My favorite oldest daughter came to spend Thanksgiving with me (from Maine) and acquired some "carry on baggage" during her trip here. We're both suffering with colds. Not the flu, but deep cough with congestion, sinuses, etc. I don't sleep well to begin with and this is making it near impossible. Got maybe an hour and a half last night between 2-4am... Dozed off and on for several more hours in my recliner after 9am... Hope I can kick in sooner rather than later. She heads back on the 30th. Maybe she'll be over this and catch a new bug to bring to Maine with her... :tongue

Awwww, Latestarter, :hugs hope you both feel better real soon.

I had a bit of a rough holiday as well. Got an "or else" note from my dr about getting my flu shot and a pneumonia something or other booster. Went to Walgreens on Friday and got them (DH got his flu shot too) and had an allergic reaction to the 2nd one and couldn't use my left arm (guess which handed I am, yep) for two days. It actually went down hill from there, literally on Saturday night. I was heading down the hallway in a rush, heard the microwave beep and attempted to make a fast U-turn. Felt my feet slip on the rug and go one way, the rest of me go the other, next thing I know I smack my head on the edge of the microwave stand, then bounce off the floor. I wind up flat on my back looking up at my DH. He says, "what happened?" I give him the LOOK and state the obvious "I fell" at which time he wisely retreats to the livingroom while I carefully take inventory of the damage. Fortunately the final tally was a few bruises, sore muscles, and a screaming headache. Nothing broken, thank you Lord.
I think it actually worked in my favor tho because the next morning I stiffly walked into the bedroom where DH sat sorting some papers on the bed. Remembering what (I think) GetAClue said about the direct approach, I said "Will you answer me honestly if I ask you something?" "Why won't you let me get a kitty?" He just looked up "you can get a kitty" "Really? That's all I wanted for Christmas so you don't have to get me anything else". That made him smile. That made me smile because I recognized it as his "whew! I'm off the hook!" smile. :lau
