Guaifenesin is the active ingredient in Mucinex, which is an what expectorant, and breaks up phlem. Mucinex DM also contains Dextromethorphan, which is to prevent coughing.

Dh is on his way to the pharmacy now to get my antibiotic refill. Chills, fever, congestion, and I feel terrible.

Man, you guys have been associating with me far too long. I'm rubbing off on you, falls, colds, viruses, allergic reactions. Never thought my klutz, Typhoid Mary gene was transmittable via the internet.

@chickisoup falling is no fun, I'm an expert at that so I know. Smacking your head on the microwave stand....stuff like that can leave you sitting in a wheelchair staring at pretty lights and having your medicine crushed up in chocolate pudding. Please take care of yourself. We'd all hate for you to stop being you.....or worse.

@Latestarter. Lots of water with lemon and rest. When the big H1N1 epidemic was going around, DH and I both got it at the same time thanks to a friend who decided to share heir 'cold' with us when they came in to have glasses adjusted. Well, it wasn't a cold. It hit us hard and we were passing the bottle of Mucinex back and forth between us. That stuff works. I thought my lungs were turning to liquid but I was able to cough up all the congestion. It wasn't pretty but it got the job done.

I had a busy day. The nesting box in coop two needed rebuilt and since it was almost 60 degrees outside today, no time like the present. One of the roosters set in the doorway and supervised. Wouldn't even hand me a hammer when I asked him. Ingrate!

Yes! Allergic reactions!

I had delayed venom reaction to a wild bee that stung me several times. 10 days after the stings, My leg got itchy and puffy at the site of the stings. It is very weird for that to happen.

Yellow Legged Wasps. They love Missouri, are very aggressive and love to sting me...which is why I am now tethered to an Epi-pen for the rest of my life.

I did react to the original stings but they went away withing a day or so. 10 days later was the venom reaction. The venom is gone by then so it is an auto immune response. If it is bad, it can damage organs similar to what happens with brown recluse bites. I will have to be very careful If I get stung again
